I was always obviously buying this and it's hilarious to me that Balla is pretending he wasn't.

Yeah seeing they confirmed standard PokéBattles ages ago and the like.
Only thing I'm not keen on is Mew is behind a £45 paywall but I'll more than likely get the bundle though as I'm a sucker.

This is going to link to Pokemon Go and inevitably to Pokemon Bank and the other games in some way. There are a billion ways to get Mew at this point, and attaching a mythical to an accessory like this is pretty standard stuff.

Shh I'm using Mew to justify a £45 toy, I'll never use

Ah, fair.
For my part, I'm actually well up for using the toy

(sticks tongue out) As a not-great-fan of gen. 1 who never picked up Go!, it was a possibility! But now I want to ride Snorlax (not like that), so I'd better buy it!
Oh fucking hell. My Aunt and Uncle live in America; on the administrative forms when their kids go to their next schools, there's a check box for "I don't want the army recruitment office to speak to my child". All the time praying on the impressionable.
Anyway, Pokemon! Please don't make me pretend to throw the JoyCon like a Pokeball. Otherwise, I'm in.

I remember seeing the huge army recruiting trucks every few months while I was living in Louisiana. Think there were a bunch of people with what must have been funding from the military, who'd be in a few of my Uni classes each week dressed in their military attire. On the first week of the academic year they had a small squad of folk directly outside one of the main buildings with a pull-up bar, challenging people to do 10 or more. My mate, a competitive swimmer, smashed it, set the day's record and they all went bannanas... until they realised he was French and not recruitable
You hear stories about it, but it's not really until you're out there that the scale of it all really sinks in. It's probably the only institution America has that can semi-consistently get poor people out of poverty so I guess that's good (embarrassing).

I saw a Japanese Self Defence Force Recruitment Centre in Nagano. It had chibi cartoon mascot soldiers on the sign, because of course it did.

Bad news, Jimbob: they've confirmed that they don't want to introduce another catching mode. Ninty Life has been surprisingly passive-activist about this in a way, disapproving from the angle that it becomes harder/impossible for some people with limited movement to play. Good for them and all, but it seems a bit out of nowhere.

DoPo:
Yes I will definitely put my Eevee in a sailor suit thank you very much. Shame you can't dress up your Snorlax, mind...

Aaaaaaand sold. Maybe not the weird fringes, mind! But basically, forget about the fighting, I want to run around with a bunch of cute monster friends.

Which mascot are people interested in?
Balla's looking at a sailor Eevee I take it. All things being equal I would've done the same, but I think I'll end up with the Pikachu, if only because I've seen a a few words about the version exclusive Pokemon.
I'm not totally sold on this but if I have the money I'll probably end up buying this because it does look lovely.

Oh. That makes things tougher. Vulpix > Growlith, but Sandshrew > Meowth. Hmm...
...I mean Eevee's still cuter, but at least Pikachu's faintly useful in battle.

Oddish is my favourite little Zoombini, and Vileplume is my girlfriend's favourite grass-type so I think I'm going Pikachu. I'd take Sandshrew and Growlithe over Vulpix and Meowth too though.

This advert/trailer thing seems to suggest that we'll be battling legendaries in a more traditional manner.
Hope they keep the Go! catching mechanics once you've weakened them though, they've historically been a rather dull pain in the jacksie to catch.

I don't massively care either way, but I feel like this is a missed opportunity to make legendaries more interesting some other way, like Go's research and stuff.

Research? Is that anything like what the main games did with the golems, where you had to learn braille?
