3ds update

I am just downloading an update. It looks like it with change the Plaza, Warawara Plaza maybe?

Okay, it's downloaded...

It appears you can purchase new mini games. StreetPass Squad, StreetPass Mansion, StreetPass Battle and StreetPass Garden.

I'm so glad Nintendo told us about this at E3 last week...

*edit* When ever I try to look at the purchasable games, it crashes.

The Accomplishments aren't numbered any more, either.

Yup, mine is crashing too! I'm more interested in the new puzzles, though - I've got a piece for New Super Mario Bros. U + Super Luigi U, as it styles itself. And it wasn't pink.

New StreetPass games? I am beyond excited.

They all all look different, the shoot 'em up looks interesting. I've read you can save 25% if you buy all 4 at once?

Also, I got a Xenoblade puzzle piece. Apparently some people have got a Skyward Sword puzzle?

It is reported that your Mii Plaza will crash if you have a high population. I'm on 526 so I don't stand a chance of playing these games anytime soon.

I'm on 667 so I've got no chance either which sucks as they look cool

My Mii Plaza now also crashes if I just try to scroll through the miis.

On the other hand, PIXEL MARIO HAT GET!

I just downloaded a new patch. It doesn't crash anymore. But I can't figure out how to buy all the games to receive the reduced price?

*edit* I just took a gamble and bought a game hoping it would suggest I buy the multipack... It did.

First impressions, the games are really flushed out (the gardening one is a bit passive). I've spent 10 play coins on each, the ghost house is my initial favourite. It's a combination of Tetris, an RPG and real time fighting mechanics!?

Yep, the games are all far more in depth than I expected. Only problem is, I really can't see me having the time to play all these if I'm at a convention getting 100s of streetpasses. That gardening one in particular seems to take far too long just to plant a flower... 

The Mansion game is awesome though, by far the best of the 4 in my opinion.

I'm still unable to download them and I've no sign of an update for it either.

I think you have to manually update the StreetPass Mii Plaza app, within the app (it's one of the icons in the plaza).

At first I was a bit disappointed with the update. Whatever happened to play coins as 3DS's primary currency for system apps? Nintendo monetising StreetPass Mii Plaza, alongside the appearance of a tablet really shows how things have changed.

But it's all good -- the games are by established developers where a lot of time seems to have gone into making them, and I'm surprised at how slickly purchases are handled (not that I've made any), with the rabbit continually offering to describe more of a game ever-so-politely at every payment offering.

Just wondering which ones to get, though. Squad and Mansion look like the best 'gamey' offerings, though I'd like to pick up all four just because you'd get more millage out of each StreetPass that way, with six(!) separate games to play for each Mii.

It's worth noting that when you try to buy one, you get a "one time only" offer, where if you buy all 4 at once, you can do it at a reduced rate. (I forget the price for all 4 now, but I used my Wii U Premium bonus towards this.)

Also noticed that my Mii doesn't appear to be wearing any new hat on the US 3DS when I streetpass myself with it.

$6.50 a game?!? They had better be worth it

Of the new streetpass games battle & mansion look the most intriguing, I don't think I can justify buying any of them though as don't get a lot of streetpasses.

Downloaded the lot! Morally I've used some birthday money on them and I just hope they're worth it - I'm going to wait until I get a StreetPass hit before investigating, though.

By the way, Play Coins are still used. Grabbed this info from GameFAQs:

StreetPass Squad is 3 coins each. Nothing matters here aside from the color of the Mii, dictating which weapon they become.

StreetPass Garden is 2 coins for a random past Mii. You don't get to choose.

StreetPass Battle is 5 coins to hire soldiers. Not sure how many you get. Don't think you can pick a past Mii.

StreetPass Mansion is 2 coins to hire an investigator, but it's just a random cat or dog. No past Mii hiring at all.

Played a bit more of them, and wow, the Garden game is really long winded - even more than i originally thought lol.
There's now shops in town that sell different pots, and stores that sell garden expansions, and someone from the shop is asking me to work there so I have to decorate my garden in order to impress her first...
This game seemed the most simple, but it's actually really complex. Seems really unsuited for a Streetpass game lol.

I have updated both my PAL 3DSs, but nothing has come through yet on my NTSC ones.  They really took a long time.  I stayed up late last night, when our broadband kicks in, and after 2.5 hours and only half done, I just left them plugged in and turned on and went to bed.

At $6.50, these really should be close to being proper eShop downloads and I assume they are.  They look nice.  However, with 4 consoles at $26 a console, I don't think I am prepared to spend $104 getting them onto all of them.  Looks like the PAL XL it is then.  I plan to download them tonight as I just picked a $30 eShop card.

Also, on the extra puzzle panels, they are also only on the PAL consoles.  I got Xenoblade and Super Luigi U.  I had no idea there was a Zelda one as well.  I might just have to bump into someone to get that one then.  I assume everyone also got the Heroine puzzle as well?  I have never heard of the game myself, what is it?
