| It's really sad if that's the route all developers are wanting to go down - luckily that's just the viewpoint of one conceited twat. |

| At least there focusing on the story, wasn't sure if it would have one.

| I don't think it's that odd. I've played a few games for their story as opposed to the gameplay. I wouldn't go as far as to say that's the most important part of the game but it's definitely one of the most enjoyable parts to me. |

| But do you play games mainly for the story? Would you be happy with a developer who said that the story is the thing they concentrate on most of all, with the gameplay coming second (or third to the graphics in this case)? That's the question. I realise that we are talking about a man who plays rhythm games with the music off, and allowances have to be made for that. |

| It depends how good the story is! Take a game like Heavy Rain of The Walking Dead, they clearly value story above both graphics and gameplay and are both top notch. As long as there are games that are all about amazing gameplay and others about story I'll be happy. |

| It's not particularly odd, but it takes good gameplay in order for me to experience that story. A game could be penned by George R.R. Martin, Stephen King and William Shakespeare's ghost, but if it plays like crap I'm not going to play through it. |

| As far as story goes in video games games should have emphasis placed on the gameplay. That doesn't mean the game itself can't be focused on its narrative, but the interaction the player has has to be compelling to make the player feel engaged and give them a desire to continue. As far as that star wars game sounds, it sounds like it's going to be completely horrible if that quote is any indication of the direction they're taking it. Not that I had much hopes it would be anything besides a rather generic shooter to begin with, but with what they've said it won't even be a solid fps. |

| What star wars game Athrun888
I'm going to agree with Andy,
Heavy Rain is one of my fav PS3 games but is all about the story but I think when you play a game from Mr David " I don't like video games" Cage you know it's going to be lacking in the gameplay front but that's fine for that.
But myself then will play something like a Super Mario 3D World which to be honest has no story but you play it for the core fun gameplay. |

| So, I'm noticing some worrying tweets from Matthew Castle and co right now. It sort of reminds me of the last days of NGamer. I think this might be the end.
Also, 200 staff cut, and Future selling off their Sport and Craft magazines.

Yep, I haven't been following it much so I got it mixed up with something else for some bizzare reason. I stand by my remarks though, if they consider the gameplay in a video game to be the least important thing about the game to the point they consider it an outright obstacle then it shouldn't really be a game to begin with. |

Sad, yet unsurprising. I was prepared for this since it was rumoured a while back. What sort of tweets? |

Sad, yet unsurprising. I was prepared for this since it was rumoured a while back. What sort of tweets? "Don't worry, my sh*tty Wispa Gold jokes will survive anything!" - Matthew Castle "Many people saying nice things about Future editorial staff - why not support them by picking up issue 109 of ONM, on sale now!" Alex Dale retweeting a picture of the first Future Publishing magazine. (Amstrad.) Rich Stanton suggesting Edge Online is closing... "If someone can just give RockPaperShotgun a load of money then we will gladly try to rescue as many Future editorial from publishing purgatory as we can." - Alec Meer. Etc, etc.... |

| Really disappointed about Quantum Break but it's from remedy, so I should of saw it coming.
Hmm now looks like Sunset Overdrive is the only known exclusive coming this year for xbox one and on PS4 it's The Witness and lot's more indies, Last of Us Higher Definition, DriveClub and Singstar. E3 better be good from these two.

| It's been posted else where on here but, I'm all about the sales and going more in depth.
The UK All Format Top 10, looks like this 01. Watch Dogs 02. Mario Kart 8 03. Wolfenstein: The New Order 04. FIFA 14 05. Minecraft PS3 Edition 06. 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil 07. Titanfall 08. Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition 09. Call of Duty: Ghosts 10. The Lego Movie Videogame
Impressive for MK8 but it can look just as impressive on the individual chart 1 WATCH DOGS PS4 2 WATCH DOGS XBONE 3 MARIO KART 8 WII U 4 WATCH DOGS XB360 5 WATCH DOGS PS3 6 MINECRAFT: PLAYSTATION 3 EDITION PS3 7 MINECRAFT: XBOX 360 EDITION XB360 8 WOLFENSTEIN: THE NEW ORDER PS4 9 TITANFALL XBONE 10 WOLFENSTEIN: THE NEW ORDER XBONE
Highest PC was Watch Dog's in 11th, VITA was Borderlands 2 in 18th, No 3DS in the top 40 or any other Wii U games thought there might of been one as people might of bought another game to go with the console.
The game also helped the Wii U console sales to go up by 666% in the UK alone with 82% of those being the Mario Kart 8 Bundle and also Watch Dog's helped the PS4 console sales go up by 94%, so all rather good for gaming in the UK.
On Watch Dog's, the Retail monitor Chart-Track said the game smashed the previous week one sales record for a new IP, eclipsing LA Noire's launch week total by 58 per cent. It also recorded the 17th highest week one sales of any game in the UK.
More on Mario Kart 8 from Nintendo & Polygon Mario Kart 8, the latest entry in Nintendo's kart racing franchise, is the fastest selling Wii U game in the console's history, the company announced today.
The game has sold more than 1.2 million copies worldwide since its release May 29 in Japan and May 30 in North America and Europe. Mario Kart 8 is also pulling in the "strongest review scores in franchise history."
"The early response to Mario Kart 8 demonstrates that the best days for Wii U are still ahead," Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America president and COO, said. "This year's E3 is just days away, and it will be all about the future games for Nintendo platforms.
The current best selling Wii U title is New Super Mario Bros. U on 3.99m, this is likely to be toppled very soon and to put the first weekend sales of 1.2m in perspective Titanfall on Xbox One sold 700k in it's first weekend.
So people will buy a Wii U for the right game and/or Wii U owners will buy games for the system just not third party, I don't think any turn around will make any of them take much notice of the U though anyway.
Also with E3 around the corner, this is great time for Nintendo to try to build up some of this momentum and keep this up by maybe announcing dates for a few of there titles mainly SMASH which you will think will do similar to kart.
I'm hearing Hollands version of GAME soldout of MK8, talking about MK. Mortal Kombat X which is weird as 9 was just Mortal Kombat & reboot unless it's Mortal Kombat X meaning EX not 10, any how it's coming in 2015 on 360, PS3 and using next gen hardware to push the MK series to the next level (I've read the presser) on ONE, PS4 and PC.
And there's been more announcements Homefront 2 is coming from Crytek which is called Homefront Revolution for ONE, PS4 & PC. Forza Horizon 2 has been officially announced, I think we all knew it was coming for fall 2014 on ONE & 360 that seems a strange one for a 1st party like this now and something else MS have announced pre-E3. Got some more info on Forza Horizon 2 the 360 version Sumo Digital is doing and use a completly differnt engine then the ONE version which Playground will work on.
The PS4 is getting a exclusive Indie (I think) title called without memory which takes cues from heavy rain & beyond two souls.
And good old Ubisoft, AC: Unity was leaked remember then DLC for Far Cry 4 , guess what has been spotted in a certain American game shop. Yep DLC for AC:U.
The PSP's life will come to an end at the end of month in Japan, following North America in January and some EU countries but will remaining in some emerging markets guessing likes of Brazil, China. The PSP has sold just over 80m SKU's making it the 11th best selling system of all time, the best selling game was Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories with just under 8m copies sold.
