I love and hate this thread. It's awesome seeing lots of cute animals but it makes me super jealous. I live in a one bedroom flat that barely survived it's brief exposure to a rabbit.

She's sixteen weeks old. She burned her tail (by sitting on a candle) earlier, but the damage is just superficial, fortunately!

This is Morpheus and Selkie, brother and sister Ragdolls.  They are kittens in the video, but have grown up since then, but still adorable.

Also, I am a cat person.  Always had cats, never had dogs.  I really don't like the personality of dogs, their neediness.  I like the aloofness of cats and I love their purring sound.

Cats are definitely cuter in screenshots to me, but I don't like their personalities as much. Yes dogs are needy and dependent, but cats are just... well... horrible, at times.

Still, those are some cute cats, especially the domestically bought ones. Although ZJ's cat still tops the adorability table.

This thread is turning me into a teenage girl with the amount of "d'awwwing" I've been doing looking at all these pictures.

No, I do mean we caught them in the wild, in that we live in a farm area and they were feral. I caught Dorian in a trap and brought him in, he was probably only about 8 weeks old. It took a while, but now he is the sweetest sook you could ever meet and so very fat.

Scraps was coaxed over several weeks. I put food out for him (scraps - the name came from that). I put the food closer and closer and sat with the food. Eventually he ate next to me and then eventually he let me pat him whilst he ate. Then we tricked him inside with food and that was it. He still doesn't like being picked up very much, but he does like his big brother Dorian. Funny thing about how we got him is that he now still demands to be patted before he will eat - association.

It doesn't always work out, as I once caught a kitten (shone a torch in its eyes and grabbed it whilst it was distracted) and it was so feral it bit me, right through my fingernail. That was very painful. It had to be put down, nothing was going to soften that one.

This is one of my Mums's cats:

So with all this cat & dogs chatter it reminded me of one of George Carlin's routines.

Literally the first thing he does when I come back from work or come downstairs in the morning is roll over so I can stroke his belly, he does this whilst Charlie is jumping all over the place in excitement.
