| Still plenty to talk about from my Konami list.
Sub-Zero was bad but so bad it was good. |

That's this forum's history you're toying with... (Second-to-last one.) Just read that - wow, Davies even get in a Shadows reference. |

| Folks, we're looking to make some changes to the forum over the next week or so - improvements, naturally.
We're hoping to have an ad-free browsing experience, a properly secure domain as seemingly the default forumotion site isn't secure and a few other extra bits and pieces. One of the things we're considering is a wee lick of paint on the place - nothing drastic, but maybe a change of the colour palette or something like that.
What would be your preferences? Personally, I wouldn't mind something easier on the eyes like a darker theme as I tend to use the "night mode" themes on other sites, but that's just me. Thoughts? |

| I never use night mode on things as I find it too dark and harder to read than black on white writing. I honestly would like nothing changed part maybe some more emojis or along those lines and get GNamer.co.uk working properly.
I've just got used to the forum here and I went over to GRcade this week and I found it an utter mess, now I don't use other forums part form SONM for a bit and that was okay.

| I was thinking about that the other day. Forums, stylistically, are a weird throwback - having the not-quick black or white text on a pale background. So I applaud an attempt to make the home of the Grackler more... modern. Although I have no idea how to help in that regard! I will go now. |

| It's up to you guys - this place is quaint enough that you've all got a say in any changes. I'd not want to turn the forum into somewhere that's difficult for you to look at, but myself and Balla are both leaning towards a darker palette at the moment. |

| Is this something that's easily changed? If it is maybe do a wee trial period of a night mode first or if it's not some preview shots of what it'd look like would be cool to see. |

| The options to change the colours are, if I remember, relatively straightforward. Having said which I'm going to push this in Jay's direction and run. |

| A darker color scheme would be nice, but I'm about as far from an artist as you can get, So I'll leave it at that. |

| How? The whole point of night mode is to make it easier on the eyes and that makes it easier to read. |

| Maybe I'm sort of coloured blind or something, as I honestly don't know part from I find it's a harder to read.
I might get used to it after awhile though. |

| Can we stop putting thread title subtitles? Can we go back to just calling game threads by their title? |

| I'll admit mine it's very good for Animal Crossing but I'm sure someone said year's ago when I put just the game tilte that it was boring and it's seemingly always been a thing here, wasn't it the case on NGamer. |

| Hm, I always thought they were a bit of innocent fun. As Mas says, it's not a GNamer-only trait either. Does anybody else find them annoying?
Only thing I could think of is the cases where the game title isn't clear from the thread title. I'd advise, but definitely won't insist on, the game title coming first, followed by a dash, colon, or brackets before any subtitle. Aids legibility that way. |

I've said all I have to say on it so it'll be back to talking about all the video games for me. |

| We can definitely create a thread for it, but I can't promise it won't leak out. It's arguably the big Nintendo conversational topic du jour, it'd be odd if it didn't.
Incidentally Drunka, were you aware that I think the Animal Crossing series needs individual personality types for individual animals? |

| About the thread subtitles: they're meant to be innocent fun, but they're just not very fun. There's no nice way to say it - and I'm sorry in advance - but in my opinion some of the recent ones have just made no sense, they're only there because someone feels they have to be, and they've all come across as very try-hard. I don't think they add anything positive to the forum.
The taglines as well, sorry, but they're just not very good. Today's one - 'Isabelle end' - is poor, and not in an endearing way. Personally, I'd much rather see the taglines used in a genuinely useful way, such as to promote threads, forum votes/events, or upcoming games releases. For too long, they've just peddled comedy that's not usually funny. Again, I'm sorry.
