| That's plenty enough characters for the test punch I'd have thought, really looking forward to this now. |

That tweet was arse. (Did have a little chuckle at Drunka's post there, mind. So ridiculous as to be almost innocent.) |

| You have to "motion" the punches still, right? |

You also have the option for normal controls. |

| Hmmm... I'll consider watching the Direct then. Up until now, I just got a massive "Wii Boxing" vibe off it - that plus the last Direct before the Arms-specific one really put me off. If I've dodged a bullet (or punch - ha) you both have my thanks. |

...seriously I wouldn't mind seeing the odd Nintendo Easter Egg in this game. They did it in Punch-Out!!! on the Wii, why not here? (Not Little Mac though, conspicuous absence of extendability.) |

I mean, I liked Testfire for Splatters as that made sense and all... I saw "Sparring Session" bandied about on Twitter instead of Testpunch, which I quite liked. |

| The Wii Sports Boxing connection is what made me interested in the game originally, but I imagine I'll end up playing more with a pad in actuality. Like Balla, I think "Global Testpunch" is glorious in its stupidity, and I appreciate them making it a "thing". TESTPUNCH CHATI'm moving in a week or so, and my neighbour is moving at the end of this week. This means I won't have internet the weekend of the Global Testpunch! Oh no! Luckily, I have a friend who lives just over the road, has internet, and is unemployed so myself and Muss have already invited ourselves over.
- 27/05/17 01:00 - I'll already be at Max's house as a result of Friday Night Drinking, so I'll probably make this one (albeit pissed).
- 27/05/17 13:00 - Yep, easy, we'll make this happen. We might be playing in handheld mode while awkwardly imposing on Max and his girlfriend but THIS IS FUCKING ARMS BOYS
- 27/05/17 19:00 - I'm having leaving drinks and a meal on Saturday evening, but who's got two arms and deliberately set the start time for 8 so he can play arms? This guy!
- 28/05/17 01:00 - This is the only one I'm concerned I probably won't make. I'll no doubt still be getting smashed and chasing gash at this point, and seeing as I'm probably gonna make a good number of the other time slots I won't be repeating my mad dash home for the Splatooooon Testfire. Also, that was at like 4am, so I wasn't cutting my night short.
- 28/05/17 13:00 - Of course I'll be doing this one. Of course mate. Are you even serious?
- 28/05/17 19:00 - Got tickets to see Stewart Lee at 19:30, so might make one match or two of this one.
FUCKING ARMS THOUGH |

That's exactly my take. We might get many a tagline from Global Tests, too. |

| Those of you who don't play Monster Hunter might not be familiar with Gaijin Hunter, but he's pretty into ARMS and I'd imagine his stuff will end up being essential viewing for players. Here he is on character abilities. GH does very informative, very well-researched stuff and basically every English-speaking Monster Hunter fan learned the intricacies of their weapons from his vids. |

| I follow him on that Twitter as he talks Switch and Japanese things which I like. I could see me watching his Monster Hunter stuff if that comes to Switch. |

| Nintendo life put up a post showing the various control schemes.
http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2017/05/gallery_check_out_five_control_schemes_for_arms
---
All of them look perfectly fine but I have to say on the pro controller/handheld/joycon grip set up I'm not too keen on grab being a press of both B & A (I'd prefer that to be set to ZL/ZR) but maybe it's something I just need to try out first.

| I've not looked at the controls myself but most fighting games the grab is two face buttons. |

Aye they typically are but personally I've not ever been a fan of that button combination as it find it awkward to press because you have to put your thumb at a weird angle. Not holding my breath for it but some button customisation would be nice so I'd have the choice of changing it. |

| Yeah, I think that button combo has its origins on arcade cabinets and fightsticks, where where you'd be using your fingers on big chunky buttons anyway. It's slightly less ideal on a pad (though I'm not too fussed). |

| The grab combination worked well enough for Pokken so I can't complain. I can see the grab being a bit of a waste in the final game anyway as it's easily countered. |

| Well I'm glad (as you guys were trying to get me to understand) that there are many non-motion-y control schemes - that's a relief. I will attempt to give this more than a cursor-esque glance. |
