| Been a while since I made one of these lame threads, time to change that! See the other day I was playing some good old Breath of the Wild, continuing my 3 heart run and entering Zora land. Naturally I decided to take on the Lynel whose every attack is a death because sneaking is for wimps. Needless to say I got my backside kicked a few times before perfecting him.
Afterwards I did some self-reflection, as the two deaths weren't good enough in my eyes considering how often I pick fights with Lynels and win. And thus this thread was born, as the self-reflection led me to a conclusion about myself and how I play games, a conclusion that made me realise I tend to get more than a little careless and lax when feeling overconfident. I'll rush in to a fight I know I can win, making mistakes and getting destroyed in the process. Happens in every game too, whether it be multiplayer or singleplayer.
Over notable game-specific flaws include constantly rolling in Smash after getting a good hit in, a bad reflex that formed as a way of centring myself for my next approach which makes me dead predictable. A flaw because I often roll and miss a good followup or chance to apply some pressure, as well as the aforementioned predictability of it.
Well, I've shown you mine, time you lot show me yours. |

| At least buy me a drink first.
I've got a couple of bad flaws in SSB, mostly rolling around everywhere. My worst gaming flaw, though, is getting bogged down in things I find quite dull for the sake of my completionist nature. One reason I'm not too concerned that Nintendo have no trophy system! |

Yeah, this - I haven't finished BotW because I'm trying to find a picture of all of the beetles, and get my clothes upgraded to 4 star. A more direct flaw - in e.g. beat-em-ups*, not being able to perform the special move at the exact most important time. *this is correct as I started doing this in 1985 |

| Mine is similar to the "buying too many games" thing we probably all have, but that I tend to miss out on great games when they are brand new.
This includes pretty much every Zelda and Mario (minus Sunshine).
I enjoy playing "last-gen" games and constantly read and think about playing games from my childhood/teenage years, without actually buying them. That's a massive flaw of mine - thinking about games all the time but if you gave me £40 to buy a game, I'd spend a week researching what I could get and end up with 10 games - most I'd never get round to playing.
This is further amplified by watching YouTube gaming channels like Game Sack, Game Scoop, MetalJesusRocks et al, when I could be playing games - I only really play a few hours a week because I'm too busy pussyfooting around reading/watching/reminiscing. |

| I hardly ever go in depth on a game. Instead I will spend the time I need to get to the credits before popping it out if the machine and replacing it with the next game. Games that require time to truly master/becum compitant at - like Mario Kart or a fighting game - I just play to completion and promptly get a damn good thrashing online. |

I do this as well, I will watch people talk about games or come on here and now even do things with games myself which I'm not playing anything. |

| For me, it's definitely trying to complete a game fully and eventually marring my overall experience of the game in doing so. Dark Souls III comes to mind as I was totally done with that game but the lure of the platinum trophy drew me back in, and I ended up burning myself out. That's why if I'm planning on completing a game 100% now, I'll give it a while to cool off so I'll return to it with an actual desire to play that game again. |

| I used to be awful for starting games and never finishing them in my younger days. I have improved a lot, but I now have the problem of just never starting them, and instead just going back to old faithfuls. It was Animal Crossing for a while, Splatoon and Titanfall had their periods, now it's Mario Kart.
In terms of actually playing, my biggest flaw is getting bored or distracted, especially in a multiplayer game where I'm chatting to friends, and my skill subsequently plummeting off a cliff. |

| I think for me it'll be playing games that I know I'll hate, but still feel I have to dabble/play through completely for the sake of having an opinion.
The other thing I can think of is that I'd rather buy the game again on another platform to replay if I've already platinumed it, so it does kind of act as a cut off point for me. It's not often that I feel the need to do so, but it's a lil bit wasteful when I do. |

I do almost the opposite: I'll buy games and then not give them a fair crack of the whip. Recent example on the Switch is pixel-indie darling, Shovel Knight. (Although not the best example as I gave it a fairer go on the 3DS.) |

| I get that as I've tried the Souls games numerous times for instance as I want to see the fuss and give them a fair crack even though I know after the first one (demon) that I won't like them. |
