| That's exactly why I was never that excited for Sony at that E3, it was obviously a way off so no need for any hype just yet. That being said it's nice to see a developer taking their time with a remake rather than just rehashing the same thing, it's gonna feel completely new. |

| That was the best E3 Ever, I tell you.
Anyway we're finally getting Dissidia on PS4 early 2018. |

| Some sort of FFXV Universe game is coming to a system that rhythms with Switch and I hope it's this also the PC version of FFXV can run in 8k, so PS5 Pro to be 8k then. |

| The article I read said that there was no way that 'true' FFXV would come to the Switch, so I guess this is a nice compromise? It looks cute as all get out and I would buy the chibi heck out of it. |

| I think the producer or something said FFXV wouldn't be able to run on Switch but a mobile game sure would and makes slightly more sense if made for a portable device and what's the Switch? Also I think the artstyle suits the Switch as well as Nintendo fans may have played Threatrhythm. |

| I couldn't help but groan and laugh at this announcement. They basically took the only two stand-out parts of FFXV, that is the battle system and the graphics. What's left is one of the most barebones stories I've ever seen in a jrpg (to the point one of the two final bosses literally comes out of absolutely nowhere with zero foreshadowing. Despite that it turns out that according to the lore he was actually the mastermind of the entire conflict. Top notch writing that!) and. . . Actually that's about all that's left. Plus Ardyn won't have nearly the same presence in super-chibi form, and he's one of the few things the game got right. |

| My mate Dave, a huge Final Fantasy fan, really rates IX too. I remember reading that the iOS port of it is well optimised but I have 1, 6 and 7 in the backlog already. |

| I hope Square as those in your backlog are on mobile and both VII & IX on PS4 are from the STEAM versions, that they can bring them over to Switch as I very much Sony has a deal where VII, VIII, IX can only appear on a PlayStation console and not Nintendo or Xbox.

| I did pick up FFXII and from the sort of outside the FF fandom it seems like it is sort of the Majoras Mask of the series, some seem to love FFXII but then I've heard others hate it because of the combat system along with a few other and that it (possibly X) was the start of the modern FF games which aren't as good, where FFIX was the last of the classic FF games. |

| There are far too many fans of the olden Final Fantasy games for me to feel like going in to exactly why I have zero love for them, but they've had their day and they're very much products of their time, the latter likely being why I've not much love for the PS1 era Final Fantasy games. |

| Sure but their is fans for the older sort and Square does seem to be catering to them with I Am Setsuna, Lost Sphere and I think Dragon Quest XI plays like it always have. |

| I love throwback RPG's significantly more than I do modern fare: witness my ongoing love for Dragon Quest, compared to my antipathy towards Xenoblade Chronicles. That said, I've not played a Final Fantasy beyond VII - the more modern ones might even change my mind on the subject. Who can say? |

| Well we've got news on FFXV for Switch, Zero. Basically Square have tried getting it to run and the luminous engine won't run, but Square are talking to Nintendo and Epic (Unreal Engine) about what they can do.
Now it seems the game needs to be ported over to a different engine, how long that will take is another question. The more exciting news is Kingdom Hearts III uses the Unreal engine, can we see that for Switch. |

If XII is the Majoras Mask then IX is the Wind Waker, rushed and unfinished but still the best in the series. I'm glad FFIX got a PS4 release, I was literally looking up if it was on PS4 only a couple of days ago just so I had an excuse to play it again, it's pretty much the only game I go back to and replay |

It shows that they want to do it, but unfortunately can't at the present time. Fingers crossed they can sort something out through Unreal to get it working on Switch. |

| I agree, Gwyn.
Yeah loads seemed to be excited about it Athrun, I sort of am as I thought it was one of the best games of 2016 and more people like a Zero get to play it but I doubt I will pick it up again.
I said on twitter etc, I'd sooner see Pocket Edition come over as I would buy and play that on Switch as never played before and I won't play it on mobile.
I think people are just excited for games overall for Switch. |

| Why wouldn't they be? In addition to what Mas has said (people without BBoPs especially on GNamer, being able to play on the go, and New Toy Syndrome - it may not affect you Athers, it affects a lot of other people), it would be a sign of general third-party support of the kind that the Wii U, and even the Wii, lacked. (See also DOOM, Skyrim etc.) And as you say yourself, it's a jolly good one. I'll buy it if it comes to Switch, and I won't otherwise! |

| Actually I kinda gave XV a six out of ten after finishing it and a bit of a long-winded tongue-lashing over in the finished game thread. XII's the Final Fantasy that I respect, it was pretty much Xenoblade before Xenoblade existed, big world to get lost in, an epic scale story of sweeping stakes and of empires and gods doing battle, and enough side content to really get tucked into when one wanted a break from the main story coupled with an excuse to explore. Plus the bestiary, killing certain amounts of beasts to get increasingly detailed info on them and various histories of the world was absolute genius and something I wish more games did. |

| Ah, I see. In which case, there's the further consideration that if one Final Fantasy comes to the Switch, and does well, so will others. Including (maybe, possibly, who knows) FFXII. |

| Today marks the 30th anniversary. I should go back and do all three episodes in FFXV and even continue with World or XII. |

| Double Post and I did never do those things but reading back this page, seems I was right and the STEAM Final Fantasy's (not VIII, never VIII) plus some others are coming to Switch and Xbox One.
Now I've got most of these on PS4 but I'm really curious on someone like you Balla finds these games as people still hold the PS1/2 FF games in high regards like people do N64 games etc that be curious if the quality still shines through to someone with no nostalgia of these games. |
