Yup! I had a lot of fun with Yellow, so I'm more than keen for round two.

Saw this pop up at the bottom of one of our other retro threads as a "similar topic" and ended up burning some time browsing through our previous Let's All Plays found here:

1: Punch-Out!!

2: Pokemon R/B/Y

3: Super Mario Bros. 2

4: Pokemon Gold/Silver

Since those threads had their time, we've seen had the reveal and subsequent expansion of Nintendo Switch Online, which I'd imagine pretty much everyone here should have access to in one shape or another. I'd be well up for having a group playthrough of some of the games on there. There's plenty on there I've never played before and a GNamer playalong would give me an excuse to tuck into the collection on offer. Keen?

I'd like an excuse to properly play River City Ransom.
Alternatively, I've been meaning to play Donkey Kong Country and sequels seeing as I always complain about them but apparently they're good.

You know I'd be down for a replay of RCR, love that game!

I'd also be up for giving DKC a proper bash. I've only really stuck with it to like the first proper boss before packing it in for being too hard.

I always found it stiff and unlovable but apparently that's because I stubbornly insist on playing as Donkey.

Wasn't even aware that they played differently.

One little rule I like to set myself for the group playalong threads is to avoid Googling - getting wee tips from you lot is part of the fun, so finding out stuff like Donkey and Diddy have different playstyles is what I'm all about.

Not been added yet but Metroid Zero Mission and Golden Sun, really want to play.

Basically anything GBA, I'm keen on.

How would folks feel about having Jet Force Gemini as our first runback at a group playthrough thread? Saw a few of us mentioning it in the Switch Online thread and I think it's due to drop on the service next Thursday.

I'll play it but I've also heard its pretty notoriously hard and the controls aren't fun to go back to, so I'm not committing to playing through the whole thing.

I can download the on the ol'Xbox and use modern controls

If it's a bit of a hit or miss game, then we can do something else like DKC.

I'll be trying it regardless so might as well.

Actually, it occurred to me the other day, listening to a YouTube channel use this concept, I'm surprised the CEO of Podcastio Podcastius hasn't created another series around this.

My first thought was "Ooh, does this count as cheating? Or on the contrary, does it actually serve as a useful comparison of re-releases?" but of course the actual answer is neither of those, it's joining in with the fun, even if one doesn't have Switch online, which can only be a good thing.

Me too I have been playing Banjo-Kazooie on Rare Replay, and it's impressing me all these years later. Would be up for seeing if Jet Force Gemini holds up too.

Sounds like we'll be kicking off with Jet Force Gemini then - no obligation to finish it natch, but would be great to see you all at least trying it and joining with the thread.

Good to see this make a comeback and I'll be playing Jet force Gemini (aka Star Twins) as well.
