Let's All Play Rebirth: Suggestions Thread

I guess were looking at 3DS over Wii U due to more people having a 3DS but I don't mind actual eShop game or maybe a older DS or Wii game that could be picked up cheap that we play at the same time.

Yeah, 3DS would work best, I'd reckon. Perhaps something from its Virtual Console selection?

Maybe a VC game that's on both? I think that'd cover the whole forum.

How about Punch-Out? Short and on both Wii U and 3DS.

And something I've been meaning to properly play for a long time!
AND something with amazing music.

I've never played it (unless you count NES Remix). I will take the plunge. Yes.

I've played it but I've never beaten it. It should be a laugh talking about how awful the racial stereotypes are and so on. It'd be interesting to see if anyone can beat it - it's a tough, tough game.

Punch-Out it is! I'll make the thread.

I've decided not to take part in the first Let's All Play thread as I just played through Super Punch-Out back in the autumn. I liked Punch-Out on the NES, but there's other stuff I'm playing at the moment, and it's sequel is still fresh in my mind.

For the next game, I see that Buska has suggested Red Steel. All good, but can I instead suggest that we play through Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow? They're out on the 3DS VC at the end of the month, and I'd imagine that they'd be quite popular on this forum. I'll certainly be getting one of them.

I was inevitably going to grab one of those anyway, especially if other people are getting stuck in.

That's fair enough Cappa! I was worried that the thread idea wasn't taking off, but it seems as though folks are interested in the concept and it's the game choice keeping them from getting stuck in... which makes it my fault, really.

R/B/Y is an absolute shout though - keeps Punch-Out in the spotlight for a little while longer and it's a heavily anticipated VC release that I'd imagine many of us will pick up. I think that's a lock for installment 2 of Let's All Play.

Just to let you know, I am planning on playing Punch-Out. Tomorrow, I'm trying to complete a whole bunch of short games in one day.

Good luck! If you abuse save states, it should be possible to beat it quickly.

I'm all over Pokemon R/B/Y, I think that might be the best way to do this when a big game comes to the VC we jump on it.

Last night I decided on my naming convention for Blue: all my 'mon will be named after shades of the colour blue!

Unless one of you guys has a better suggestion... If you do, no swearing - I could be trading these with my 11-year-old cousin, after all.

Just voted & I went for blue purely on the basis of it being my favourite colour, as you all know I have thought about trying pokemon games in the past but that's all it's remained with these being the originals it only seems right.

What?! That's super steep for a VC game.

But it's POKEMON and they've added in the trade function.

Also $9.99 would be £8.40 then the normal round up that £9.99 is about right, I'm not sure if Yellow is more expensive as it's in Color.

I'm not talking about the price conversion between regions though, each VC game depending on the format it's from GB, NES etc have always had a fixed price & to bump this up just because "It's Pokemon" or adds the trade function is ridiculous.

EDIT: Especially when Nintendo are going all out with those 3ds/2ds bundles.
