Fighters, DOA, Tekken, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, KOF, BlazBlue etc

Smash - at least Melee - is huge though. This was from a tournament a few weeks ago. Still, Pokken's inclusion is surprising but not unwanted - I can't wait to see it played at a pro level.

It's a strange one SMASH, I can't wait to watch Pokken and SFV to see who the top guys use right away.

There's early talk of Gief being the man to beat in SFV. I hope not - bloody hate both playing as and against Gief.

He's not one of my favourites either.

The BETA is working fine this time, I played a bit yesterday you can even watch it here and see that your all going to beat me easily

I was setting up the stream Jay, so wasn't paying attention.

Of the characters I've tried which is kinda hard with training mode or online is Karin, from looking at the Top 10 players on the BETA there isn't a single Zangief player.

Mas: Ah, really? I'd heard a lot of FGC players I follow on Twitter talking about Gief's potential.

I'm looking at the Top 10 now which has 2 Ryu's, 3 Bison's, 1 Rashid, 1 Birdie, 3 Nash's.

The top Gief is 65th out of at least the rank of 64,256 (my rank and loads of other players).

EofGizmo brought up on Pod of War EPII, about maybe doing a Street Fighter V GNamer/Gintendo Tournament.

I don't know how we would do it, be knockout (I'll be out early) tourney one weekend or we do a league like we did quite a few years ago with Mario Football, which might be easier to sort then the 6 or so of us all being available at the same time & we play each other.

A league would be ace - couple times round each, best of 3 or 5 each game.

I'm getting very excited for SFV now.

Yeah I was thinking best of 3 games and you get a point per game won.

And could have a home & away that everyone plays each other twice even if a stage shouldn't make much difference.

Will you be about at night after 9 at all next week Mas? Definitely keen on getting some sessions on the go.

I'm earlys all week got 2 days off as well that the answer is yes.

Excellent - I'm working till 8 next week, so by the time I get home and have some food it'll be 9ish. I'll be on around then for some Street Fighting.

Cool I reckon I'll play better Thursday & Friday as not been up since 5am and had time to play as all the fighters. On the fighters the FB page has videos on how they each play, might be worth watching as from the video, I have seen Karin sounds like she may be my main.

My copy of SFV came yesterday, it took a while to do a update that I played for only a hour or 2.

This is my thoughts so far without even touching the story of the 16 characters, first your greeted to a little training with Ryu & Ken which I've now played 4 times which I did that I went selected things like my character which I've gone for Cammy.

One of the things you set is Fighter ID, which is good and bad as if I wan to Jay to my fav list's I need his ID, same with setting up battle lounge if he's not in my fav's. Which is a little bit of a pain when we a get a group hopefully together but the benefit of this is, that for Drunka if he could run the game on PC we need his Fighter ID and he should be able to play with us.

After doing all that I went to the training mode, and I think I can do all of Cammy's moves but this is one issue I have with SF over something like MK as I like to use a D-Pad for fighters but the inputs for Spiral Arrow (I think that's it's name) is half circle kick which I find hard to do with a D-Pad that I'm using the analog stick which I don't find as precise as I some do a up move instead of Spiral Arrow and to do Cammy's Critical Art it's half circle half circle kick and sometime I'm there looking like I'm a seizure or I do my CA when I don't want to.

I like something like MK where I press back back forwards forwards A to do Raiden's superman move as I call it, that I;m even more tempted to get a fight pad (maybe after bonus) as it's got one of those round D-Pad's which maybe easier to do half circles for instance.

Then I went to survival mode and did the easy mode which is 10 fights, after doing that I'm level 8 with Cammy (there's trophies base on levels, so this maybe a easy mode to get them up) along with getting some fight money,, a color variant for her and title.

I've played 10 games online which has been a mix of casual & ranked, I've only won one fight which was my fist ranked game. All the casual games have been close and so have the ranked part from these one guy I've played twice who was using Birdie who has the joint highest health in game alongside Zangief and I must of hit 50 time's but could I beat him nope.

I don't after the BETA which you can watch to see me get destroyed the match making has improved as even if when I lost it's been close also there was alot playing that BETA as I was ranked 62,000 in world at the moment I'm 2000 in the world.

Now I've got online to play which at the moemnt even the battle lounge is only 2players, story mode for all 16 characters which might take a while and survival mode but that's it.

But reading this Eurogamer article, I like the sound of the Splatoon like drip-feeding more content along with one new fighter a month

Anyway as some who's never been a big fan of Street Fighter part form the odd one here and there, I've enjoyed the few hours so far.

How would a Gnamer Street Fighter League/Tournament work? Would we just keep tabs on who won versus who, or is there a specific in game league mode? I'll probably buy this on PS4, but I doubt Drunka's computer could handle this game. He could always play on my PS4 though.

We would just keep taps, I believe Jay may of ran the Mario Football one and we just sent him the results and he'd just up date the table.

It was me for Stikers Charged, Dusty made the scoreboard image though.

I think we could life without a pretty score board, just need to keep track.

Thinking about it now, would a Pokken League be better as there likely be more of us picking that up.

Why not have both, they both sound like they could be fun if people are up for it.

I'd play in either, but I suck at fighting games so I'll probably won't beat anyone.

We gots a while to wait for Pokken anyhow.
