Your actual top 10/20/25/50/100/200 games - have you ever?

My top Games List would feature multiple games from a few series so look a bit samey. And also because of that i'd be difficult to order it.

Straight from the top of my head i'd go for:

There's a lot of games I need to play.

Well, as I feel at this exact moment:

1: Dark Souls, Mario Galaxy and Mass Effect Trilogy
4: MGS3
5: Skyward Sword
6: Twilight Princess
7: MGS
8: Mario Galaxy 2
9: MGS4
10: Pikmin

but the order could change at the drop of a hat. Also, I'm feeling more and more that Ghost Trick would probably bump Pokémon from my list.

Definitely agree with that: GT is better than any Pokémon game.  So story, much puzzles, very Missile, wow.

I dunno if that would be representative of us all though, not now.  SM64's out of favour after having the harsh light of day shone on it, OoT isn't even the forum's favourite Zelda, and XC probably benefited from Athrun contributing to the thread, say, while Philps didn't (not to mention it fell out of Drunka's).

Actually I recall I didn't start Xenoblade until long after everyone else started, and I also dropped it for almost a year where upon my return everybody had moved on so I barely contributed iirc. Not really sure how everything went down but I just don't recall discussing it much.

It still turned up in your list, whereas there's no way it would have made Cappa's.

Now as I can be bothered again to do it my Top 10 is, but I think it was different last night and I did 25 not 10 with a lot of the older games dropping of and being replaced with games from the last two gens such as Red Dead Redemption & Catherine.

I tried to make a top ten right there, but I soon realised that Hogs of War wouldn't be in it anymore, and thus I don't want to publish it.

This isn't the Cappa I remember.

I'm worried, Jay.

And when he wrote the list... Bravely Default was at the top.

"A lighthearted romp", I called it. "Five anime boobs out of five".

They're pretty flat-chested in BD, much though the game would have you believe otherwise.

Seriously though, I felt much the same with SM64. I still prefer its concept to Galaxy's, but there's just no denying that it's not up there any more. I want it to be up there, but it isn't.

The Xbox version? As a Dreamcast nut, I thought you'd prefer the original given it allowed you to bring over your save from the first Shenmue, and didn't have ridiculous American voiceovers.

But if I have the Xbox version, I get Shenmue The Movie meaning I don't miss out on story. Oh and controls slightly better.

Also what's wrong with Corey Marshall?

Nothing wrong with Corey, in fact I enjoyed the first game's stilted voiceovers. It almost leant to the atmosphere - that was how they all talked in this 80s Japanese town. I think I prefer the Dreamcast version because I played that first. It also felt more genuine as it was now in Japanese with subs, which made the new setting (Hong Kong) more alien and believable as a different country. I watched Shenmue The Movie recently and while it sums up the goings-on in the first game, it doesn't capture the mood or feel that playing the game does. It's literally as if an employee stuck all the non-QTE cinematic moments in to Windows Movie Maker and burnt it to DVD.

The controls - fair enough. Plus the improved pop-up and not having to listen to the Dreamcast sounding as if it's cutting up the disc.

*Nearly came out as 'Barman: Arkham City', followed by 'Bartman: Arkham City'. Both exquisitely different games from each other, and from the title I was supposed to be ruddy typing.

I'd be more interested in "Barman: Arkham City", to be fair.  Try Chuck a pint into the Joker's eyes; then when he makes trouble, "Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to leave."

So we've all got our top tens, recently updated. A question, then (like my recent thread, robbed form the Podquisition): what would you change in your top games to make them even better?

I'm at work now, so won't do the whole list quite yet, but I reckon I can talk about LoZTP:

• HD it up;
  
• Inject a bit more colour into the game. It needn't be full Skyward Sword, but MM was plenty dark enough while using Ocarina's colour palette;
  
• Scrap the motion controls, or replace them with SS';
  
• Give Colin a damn personality;
  
• Make it a bit easier to cross the desert.

And obviously making Malo the main character.

What you want then is the GameCube version but in HD pretty much, just how well of a job the rumored HD version will be is the question will it be just make it run at 1080p 60fps or will they improve textures, will they do even more then then that. There's so many different versions of it's now in HD of games.

But looking at my 10, put Mass Effect out in a collection in 1080p 60fps with all the DLC, same with Shenmue II put it with the first and HD it up.

Bayonetta and Resident Evil 4
Nah, wouldn't change these two.
Pokémon Blue
I guess they made all the changes one might make in the sequels and remake but I like the original. Nostalgia and that.
Halo
Lose the flood.
Pikmin
Nah, no changes needed.
A Wii Zelda
Combine Skyward Sword's artistic vision, controls and innovation combined with Twilight Princess' exploration and tension.
Metal Gear Solid 3
A game with MGS3's story in a Groznyj Grad rendered MGSV-style would be sex on a disk.
Dark Souls, Super Mario Galaxy, Mass Effect Trilogy
I wouldn't want any of these games to change
A Dark Souls Super HD release that doesn't crash on me would be nice. Super Mario Galaxy 2 with more of the first game's sense of story and adventure would be sick. And like Mas says, Mass Effect Trilogy with all the DLC on my XBox One would be amazeballs.

Yeah but fighting them doesn't have to be so long and tedious. It didn't even bother me as much as it does some people, but any Flood section is always by far the worst bit.

Hmm, interesting question. I probably wouldn't change many things from my favourite games besides your usual graphical updates/sound remastering/releasing Mother 3 in the west. I'm more or less happy with my top 25 list.
