Yeah, that's what bothers me about amiibo. Yes, I see the merits of the "toys brought to life" model - Skylanders is proof of how that can be successful - but the scarcity of amiibo and the consequent restrictions brought about by that are disappointing to see. |

| Nintendo seem to be getting a little better, in recent weeks I've seen shops stocking Toad, Marth and Meta Knight so at least they're still making some of the scarcer ones. It's annoying the direction they have gone though, it could all be too little too late, if they were stocked well from the start I don't think we'd be seeing them above the original £10.99 price tag and buying them for this content wouldn't seem as bad.
The launch DLC thing they've done with Splatoon isn't great but this could be solved by simply releasing the amiibo later on after release, I don't think it would feel as cheeky if they did it that way. |

Also Mii amiibo along with the 4 DLC Characters.

| So I have my first amiibo! It's a Japanese Ganondorf from occasional forumite Sentinator. Many thanks, Sentinator! G&W switchable amiibo was nice, but the usual problems with amiibi apply. |

| The Animal Crossing Amiibo make me angry in that they look amazing but the game they belong to is a very depressing prospect. |

| Lots of reports of there being loads of amiibi on store shelves now - seems like the promised production increase has happened! Very tempted to add to my total of lady amiibi with Palutena and ZSS - decided against as there isn't much more shelf space available! |

| Nintendo sent out a email saying about it and my local GAME has a lot in and a few spare of the new ones but no yoshis. |

| These re-stocks have caused my wallet all kinds of problems, well.played Nintendo, it's good to see them doing something about it anyway, I'm mainly trying to stick to the Nintendo store at the moment though as I still prefer to pay 10.99.
The Yoshi Amiibo are amazing, much smaller than it looked in pictures and all the better for it, I need the other 2 now! |

| My brother sent me a confusing Snapchat video today. Turned out he was showing me that he rigged up a Gamecube controller with a Donkey Kong amiibo in it. Apparently that's a thing now. |

| I'm up to 11 of the buggers. Will probably be up to 13 if Palutena and ZSS are still in the shop when I get paid on Friday, and I would've had the other two Splatoon ones but I was a victim of crime. - Fastpie wrote:

Essentially it's this but a lot less polished.
His instructions from Facebook:
"Pry open amiibo base Remove chip Unscrew controller Place chip inside Rescrew controller Unscrew it again because the trigger was stuck down Screw it back up" |

| Aah, the polar opposite of what I thought! I was imagining a clear plastic controller with DK's face gurning behind the start button. |

| Earlier today I traded in Dark Pit and Marth at GAME to get a Palutena. If you're wanting to trade in amiibi, they need a barcode to scan. I was lucky that they had my pair in stock, but I'm now keeping the backs of amiibo packaging for the future.
This has been a Zero Value Public Service Announcement. |

| Traded them in, they must give peanuts for them. Also would of thought someone you knew might of wanted those two.
I know Disney Infinity figures they offered me £1 for Rocket thankfully, I've got a CEX so I got £6 for it in GAME due to price match. |

| They were valued at £8 each. That paid for Paluteniibo and gave me a pound of store credit. If that's peanuts... too bad. If someone here wanted them... I apologise, but they are both fairly widely available at the moment. |

| Here comes amiibo piracy! I'm not a fan of piracy, not at all... but the idea of not being hamstrung by the rarity of some figures does appeal. And it's not like you're getting the full amiibo experience anyway, with the figures being so big a part of the appeal. |

| I like the idea of being able to save amiibo data somewhere and use the figure with another game. To be honest, Nintendo should be write right on top of that with some sort of app for both systems. Otherwise, I agree with Balla - piracy ain't not no good, y'all. |
