| I don't need two marths, I was thinking Wii Fit Trainer as she might be collectable as who really wants Wii Fit Trainer |

| The first 12: Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Link, Fox, Samus, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Pikachu, Kirby, Marth will be out November 28th before SMASH is even out which might be a good thing for me as I might be able to get them all. Then December 19 , these 6 will come out to bring the total to 18 for 2014. |

| Gosh golly, I wonder what the poses of the other characters will be!
Wonder whether they'll do the non-Nintendo Smashers too. Maybe Pac Man's amiibo can be compatible with his next rubbish platform game! |

| That's me getting that one then, do we reckon that Mario characters will work with Mario Kart then? Would be nice but looking at how they've modelled the Mario amiibo on Smash Bros Mario I'm assuming they'll be separate. Same question applies to the Zelda amiibo, surely there's nothing stopping that from being compatible with Hyrule Warriors. |

| Yeah you would think all the Zelda Universe amiibo's would work but so far just link confirmed.
But also looking at the SMASH character's will the Sonic amiibo when it comes work with Boom for instance. |

Oh for the love of fuck. I could only watch until it faded back in with "boy" and his mum at the shop. It was actually quite reasonable until then, but I can't bear to imagine what words appear next. Don't want to know. Don't want to know. Don't want to know. |

| Du fromage, pur et dur. It doesn't sell me on amiibo, either, although Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo Wii U ( ) is looking fine!

| Looks like the finished, mass produced Amiibo figures are a fair bit worse than the more finely crafted prototypes: https://twitter.com/NintendoAntarct/status/526352297408753664/photo/1 https://twitter.com/NintendoAntarct/status/526353159942176770/photo/1 https://twitter.com/Sector__X/status/526098152043327488/photo/1
Shame, though not entirely unexpected -- this is par for the course with these sorts of figures. The Amiibo are actually pretty ambitious when compared with Disney Infinity's figures. Though I have to say that comparison isn't entirely fair either: the lighting conditions and focus are different, but it's clear there's less detail in the new one.

| Circumstances of the photos. are too different for me to draw any conclusions. I'm sure the person's right, but they've presented it in an awful way. |

| Just swapped around the links for better ones. The quality would definitely have dropped either way: the paintwork on the ones at Hyper Japan/EGX didn't seem possible to replicate when mass producing these things at this sort of price.

| The second link to the Links (ha) shows the most obvious difference: a bloody massive lump of orange plastic. While I'm not one to quibble about tiny detail changes (like the decor around Peach's bosom jewel), I don't want Link kneeling on a cuboid of frozen Irn Bru. |

| Yeah, that's really, really bad. I've seen cheap anime figures with better stand thingies.
The third link above confirms the quality of the Link figure: the yellow plastic box thing that holds up link is in it, and that's from the cringeworthy four minute long trailer. Though at least it means Nintendo aren't trying to hide the quality of the things: they are using the actual figures in their advertising, rather than the superior prototypes. Hats off to them for that.

| If I get one, it'll have to be Mario, purely because I have no imagination/he'll work with more than one game. |

| It's been pretty much confirmed amiibos will unlock costumes in Mario Kart 8 for Mii's but that going around includes Fox for instance which isn't listed on the Walmart display thing to work with the game.
So I'm thinking most will unlock costumes but ones in the game eg mario will work a bit like smash where you can save your kart etc to it then go over a mates then bam your ready to go right away even if they not unlocked what ever your using. |
