| Thank God for him, as he says. Or curse God for him, as some of you do. The main reason I think he deserves his own thread is because of his weekly show on The Escapist, Jimquisition, which is surprisingly pro-Nintendo (surprisingly for a moron person who gave ALBW 7/10, that is) and enjoyable for those of us who enjoy a good old rant. This week: more about why Nintendo's E3 was a thing of wonder.
Love him? Hate him? Apathetic towards him? Share it with the group. |

| I find his voice and his silly hat etc too annoying to give an honest opinion of him or his shows. He looks like the sort of weirdo who prowls comic con looking for girls with "free hugs" signs and then gets WAY too handsy. |

| Experience of going to mcm, realising it only exists because socially awkward people don't have any other means of human contact and deciding never to go back. |

| Yeah, I wouldn't lump the stereotypical con goers in with the rest, tends to be the loudest that stand out the most. Never going to MCM again though, wonder what Ashens made of it when he went in May.
As for Jim Sterling, not sure about him as a person but his work is alright. I've already mentioned it in other threads, but he has a tendency to take the "pro-consumer" view whilst deliberately holding back the other side of the argument, leading readers to not understand actually why things are how they are in the first place and why they might not be able to change as easily as it would seem.
But occasionally he puts out some great things, I give the thumbs up to the majority of his Jimquisitions. |

| I'm not complaining about all socially awkward people. I'm just saying mcm is super weird, and there's a certain class of fedora - wearing neckbeards who make it even worse. |

| The only opinion I have of him is that I don't like his voice. Other than that, he faces my ignorance - a fact which I'm sure shames him on a daily basis. |

| I'm probably going to keep linking to these until I get bored with 'em. For now, why Jas is wrong and Ubisoft are evil. |

| It's their games I like not the corporation, so aye they still make great games. (side note: Now I'm sure I've probably said "I like Ubisoft" somewhere on here but when I say that I really mean their games.) |

If you are not getting fooled by their shitty business choices then why is that a problem? |

| The problem is that I don't want the games company that makes these shitty choices to do well. And a substantial amount of profit margin out of every game I buy from them goes to the people who oversee these shitty choices being made, and frequently benefit from them. You can't say that because I only buy their good games, only the people who make the good games will get the money from them. |

| There's no avoiding that with any games company though so my point is why worry about it? If I'm enjoying the games then I couldn't give a flying fuck what other things they are doing with their business, if they continue to make bad choices then folk will eventually see through it & they will have to change their ways or fold.

| I could care less too - much less, and that's the point! I'd much rather give my money to Iwata, who seems like a decent enough bloke, than Guillemot, who seems like a ****.
At the end of the day it's going to have a fairly minimal effect on whether I buy their games or not, in the same way that crowbarring characters that don't fit into one of my favourite series won't stop me from buying the series' games (see what I did there?); but I wish that the shoddy people and the shoddy games went together, like they conveniently do with EA. Of course, if they brought out Henry Hatsworth 2 I'd have to reconsider, but I'd probably be too busy dodging winged swine to play videogames anyway. |

| That's the thing though neither Iwata or Guillemot are here to be your friend so it doesn't matter if one is nicer than the other or not they are there to sell you on a game/their products, one just noticeably does it better. Anyhow I'm not really bothered if Jim Sterling continues to rip into Ubisoft as he has a very good point or if you continue post to them in here as I'll happily continue to look forward to some things that Ubisoft produce. Tired of this now so see ye later. |

| Agree with Jas even though I don't like what Ubi are doing.
Didn't Axis post a article which said Nintendo was the worst for child labour or something yet you still buy all there games, console etc. So surely that's worse then trying to sell you dlc for annual rehash before it's even out. |

| Ach, that's a really good point. And by "good" I mean "bad", if you understand what I mean. I guess my points from above apply to Nintendo as well: I'm uncomfortable buying their games because they can be a bit scummy, but not so uncomfortable as to put me off doing it. I'm just better at forgetting with Nintendo, I guess, because for some reason labour practices and environmental crimes don't make the gaming press so much as free-to-play games and DLC. It all seems rather petty when put in that light. |
