Yeah it could drop to end of Wii early Wii U shares but with $8billion in the bank and there assets, like how much would the Mario IP sale for. There clearly not doomed.

3DS really coming to the end of its shelf life faster than I thought. I'm not 'arf up for Youkai Watch, mind.

It does look like that but 2016 seems fairly strong with FE:if and Yo-kai, if the NX is the 3DS replacement it has to come out next year as there is no way that the U is staying around to 2018.

I don't see how 2 niche titles make a strong line up, also if Nintendo stick to the 5 year cycle like they normally do then surely NX would be out in 2017.

FE:A did well, so think if is rather big. But if 5 years cycles like the norm then replacement for 3DS would be 2016 and U would be 2017.

It's not always bang on 5 years as they need room for the announcement/reveal of the new system.

This is usually made a year before it's launch like what they done with 3ds, so technically DS was 6 before it's successor was out but in terms of big releases it had it's time in the spotlight.

Yeah but the norm of consoles has always been 5, I can't see how anyone thinks the U will get 6 years on the market.

I never said anything about the wii U, I was pointing out that though the DS had 6 years it was still technically 5 because support had significantly dropped off by that final year just like it's starting to look like the same with 3ds.

As for wii U, yes it hasn't been the best but it has got around a tough corner now & I think it can still stick it out for a few more years yet especially with the way Nintendo will be supporting their big games with DLC as that to me doesn't sound like a company who is ready to launch their next console any time soon.

I was bring it up as it might effect the launch of each other, the Cube only had 4 at that was far more successful then the Wii U.

But you can see why with times I think Hybrid, unless they announced and came out in 2016 like PS4 , ONE were back in 2013.

Sony have released some numbers about the PS4 in Europe with it's lowest market share in Europe being 70% (I'm guessing that's the UK) and most of Europe is 90%+ share.

Ubisoft have posted quarterly results where the company is 73% down year on year .

27% on PS4, 23% PC, 11% COMBINED total of the Xbox One, Xbox 360 & PS3, 3% Wii U & Wii, of Ubi's software revenue.

I don't really know why ONE, 360 & PS3 are combined, would be interesting to see what they were on there own and how dead the PS3 is and to see if Square are right not to be bringing likes of DQ: Heroes PS3 Ver to the west.

Some more Salez the Wii U has now reached around 10m SKU's worldwide or about 4.6m in North America, 2.4m in Japan, 2.3m in Europe and 700k rest of the world in 2 years 7 Month's.

Which is on level or near with a few other systems in history, about 600k behind the Dreamcast which was only on the market for 19months (depending on your view), 500k more then the Saturn, and about the same as the PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16.

Not a bad bunch of consoles to be next to in the history books, but looking at sales numbers and us all knowing the NX is a thing, I can't see the Wii U getting to GameCube 22m SKU's as what is going to shift 12m Wii U's. I can see it doing Master System numbers which is about 14m when is all said in done.

So maybe a debate question (Balla), if the Wii U ends up on 14m around the same as the Master System is that good or bad in refection as back then gaming was more niche and you had to go to specialist shops or to electronics store to get a console and games were only played by people living in there mums basements, which makes the Wii U numbers look most unfavourable as gaming is now such a common thing or is it because now there is gaming on phones, tablets etc that to many things have got a piece of the pie.

To be honest I'm glad it's got to eight figures of sales. There is Zelda U coming up that I reckon will bump the sales a bit, but the horizon doesn't feature much more for me (XCX is not my cup of tea).

That's if it comes to the U and it has been made official by Nintendo that the U has passed 10m SKU's and Splatoon has passed 1.6m SKU's

Sony have fared batter with the PS4 which


It now stands at over 25m SKU's and in the last quarter sold double the Xbox One & 360 combined and 6 times more then the Wii U with 3 SKU's, Sony has even upped there forecast and hope to shifted 40m SKU's by March 31st 2016. And it has been the Number 1 selling system in the UK for all of 2015 so far along with Batman: Arkham Knight being the fasted selling game of the year, so far on the PS4.

But not all good for Sony the PS3 and software sales for it are almost as dead as the dodo even with it still doing well in Japan.
