| I saw EA Originals trending yesterday, and I got a wee bit excited. Much to my disappointment that it was just a name for some indie stuff though. I can't be blamed for thinking that, with a name like that, they were going to wheel out some retro stuff. As they should! Electronic Arts have such a good catalogue of games from the last thirty years that they've done bugger all with.
I'd have watched Sony's conference, but 2am? Nut. A new Crash Bandicoot must surely be happening though. I'd bet your right bollock that it's happening. |

| Must say, even thought E3 feels like a general pile of misery, I am getting something out of it through my Twitter feed. I follow Kaz Hirai (the other one), Scullion, Porygon [sic], and (for this week only) Jim Sterling. No idea what the hell they're talking about most of the time, but I'm enjoying the mostly cynical funnies. |

| Microsoft's conference was pretty great, lots of games and some groundbreaking new hardware with the best looking pixels anyone has ever seen. Fortunately most f the games shown are playable on PC so no need to fork out for one of their consoles. Custom controllers are pretty cool too, I might get myself one. |

| Microsoft just ended, a good press conference lot's of things I like the look off, not all out in 2016 though. Not quite enough I think for me to jump back in unless Xbox One S and the news of Scorpio coming in 2017 bring the price right down on a OG Xbox One around the time Gears of War 4 comes out as that's almost up there in terms of likes of Zelda, of a game that is a absolute must play for me.
@Duck all there games are playable on PC going forward this was announced back in January but how much is a PC that can run Gears of War 4 in 4k and is compatible with rift, that's the selling point of the Scorpio and that people don't want to build PC's and up date drivers, hence why we buy consoles. |

Genuinely not sure if serious? Heard that the "Scorpio" reveal was pretty confusing and not too great, and the way you phrase this would seem to agree, yet the rest of your post seemed in earnest. You're confusing me Duckie! |

| Loads of cheering in the room and Phil seems to be rather clear on what it is, but I'm thinking poor Nintendo as Scorpio beats the rumored Neo specs which are decent and both might be next year.
Will the industry be looking Neo vs Scorpio, not NX?

| Not serious with that one, the "best looking pixels anyone has ever seen" is a direct quotation. Probably the best line of E3 so far. |

| ...wonderful. Also just checking out Scalebound, which was possibly the One game I was interested in (what happened to ReCore?). The action looks great (those dragons and stuff), the characters sound absolutely terrible....no wait, found ReCore, that too looks pretty snazzy. Platforming aside, that looks infuriating. |

Doubt it, anything released on the Neo and Scorpio ( worst. Name. Ever.) has to be compatible with the previous models, properly compatible. Microsoft can boast about its power all they want, but they ( and sony) will have to keep things in check lest they invoke the wrath of every consumer who bought the original models. Not that I'm saying it won't be Neo v scorpio at the end of the day, but I'm confident that if it is it's going to be entirely because Nintendo fixed absolutely nothing that saw the wii u fall on its face and continue to make a console people don't want. ---------------- Pretty unimpressing show to be honest, but then it's microsoft so that was to be expected. Scalebound looked really hype, but not something I'd buy a system for. Only other hype thing was ffxv, which is going to be on the ps4 anyway. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm starting to see why Nintendo ditched E3, feels like it's dying. |

| Yeah like you say they have to play games on everything but if the media is talking Neo vs Scorpio and Joe Bloggs is seeing that and not NX which could be anything knowing Nintendo, could it get lost.
We will know about NX as were Nintendo fans but like you say the Wii U has had problems. |

| The NX needs the right kind of advertising campaign and launch titles. If it has both of them, and it's got a good concept, it should be alright. If any sides of that triangle aren't in place, it'll end up floundering. I reckon. |

| I don't advise using it as a social network, God no - but it has its benefits as a news aggregator. But each to their own, of course. |

| There was an interesting game shown there: Severed, from Drinkbox. Looks good, and they have good pedigree. (Previously a Vita release, also a typical Drinkbox move.) Jotun looks not bad as well. Useful stopgaps for the remaining years of the Wii U's un-life. |

| Severed is excellent, you guys only on Nintendo / don't own a VITA should buy it as it's that good and support the indies. |

| Just caught up with the Ubisoft & Sony conferences both solid showings that had a fair few games that interested me but neither truly wowed me, also glad Sony didn't put too much focus on VR although I did get confused when the transition between the VR segment to CoD: IW happened as it wasn't clear it finished and I thought it was some sort of space VR game. I also thought it looked like the most generic FPS game as well, also that VR final fantasy looked ropey as fuck. |

| Sony seems to have got the lion's share of the plaudits once again. Of course, it's hard to tell because Sony fans are by far the most numerous and vocal these days, but it does sound like Sony has mastered the art of pacing a conference - something the others, with their celebrity interruptions, protracted speeches, and terrible musical interludes (Nintendo) have never quite grasped. So even if not all of the games were great, and some were tedious multiplat stuff (CoD), they'll still have people on-side at least immediately afterwards. |

| Their pacing really was the best I've seen from any e3 showcase but I didn't mind Ubi's at all & I even found Aisha Tyler funny at certain points. |

| Just watched Sony's press conference and it was superb, yeah some games like COD do like your normal FPSing fare but how the show was paced with just trailer after trailer, none of this get someone awkwardly on stage every time. Also the orchestra also helped, it seemed like it had a bit class to it especially going from the Ubisoft which was good but it had fart jokes & f-bombs.
I have to talk about the games God of War, is Norse seems to be more grounded and realistic with some RPG elements mixed in a bit like Tomb Raider with the discover things to learn and level up. Days Gone, Bend finally show up with what looks like TWD meets SOA (I've never watched SOA, so could be wrong) not my fav thing but could be very good also seeing post apocalyptic and how it looks, sort of wanted to it be set in The Last of Us universe
The Last Guardian, is dated and is maybe my most anticipated game of the year
Horizon: Zero Dawn, Has to be game of the show far
Detroit: Become Human, Shows a new character along with the choices and how they will work. I do like David's games but story telling in this way has moved on with likes of Life is Strange that it will be interesting how this has took on new ideas
Resident EVII: Biohazrd, This looked awesome and from what I know about VR and the team behind this game this was made for VR from the ground up also it's playable in standard mode, which I'll likely play it in as I'm a chicken
VR Dated for North America at least but EU will likely be close, they showed Farpoint which looked a okay FPS, a X-Wing Mission, Baman VR from Rocksteady which was all great then the low light if VR was FFXV which looks unlike REVII the VR is shoehorned in and on rails even but hey be something interesting to check out after finishing FFXV.
Straight into COD: IW which didn't show Kit or anything VR as it is getting something PSVR related also was sort of missed but MWHD will be playable 30days before IW comes out if you preorder via PSN.
Crash Trilogy is being remastered for PS4 from the ground up, also the Skylander exclusive figure. So one Yay moment and one Nay thing about Crash
Kojima with his game which stars Norman Reedus, in what may have had something to do with Silent Hills but Kojima is mad that could be anything also guess Norman will be in the suit, not butt naked through the whole game which will likely be 2019 but still a highlight of the E3
The Spider-Man exclusive game from Insomniac not Sucker Punch like the rumors, Insomniac just come off the excellent Ratchet & Clank and did Sunset Overdrive which has sort of Spider-Man type parkour. I'm very hopeful this could be the best Spider-Man game ever also I reckon it's coming July 2017 right near Homecoming as it's part of the MCU from what I'm reading but is a original story as the suit is different not sure how it all will play out.
Me and EofGiz will talk more on Pod of War which will be very interesting as he wasn't that impressed as he doesn't like Zombies or Kojima's games, where it's 10 games there I'm buying Day One with out counting the sizzle real. |
