This week: a reminder that there is NO BOOM BOOM in SMO!

Well, not thus far, anyway. Instead there's a quartet of weird rabbity blokes. They're not exactly setting my world on fire, but they're more interesting than the bloody Koopalings.



Left to right: Morton Jr. Bunny Form, Paddy O'Haire (t'be sure), Longface the Rabbit Assassin, and the one whose head comes off and she turns into a spider.

I'd rather have Boom Boom & the Koopalings as those rabbits look like the baddies from a very bad Sonic game.

I'm glad to see someone different. Hopefully we'll get lots of big monster bosses as well as these smaller duels.

How I imagine what their personality will be.

From left to right: Dumb but strong, the mad hatter, the dopey one & the token girly one who is a bit crazy.

Rabbits have a history in 3D Mario games. They could be fun but the one on the left just looks like Ludwig von Koopa (I think I mean him? The Koopaling with the blue hair.

Mario platformers aren't generally all about the personalities of their antagonists though. I'll be surprised if any of them get any dialogue.

Tbf that's my biggest worry about them & I'm just not a fan of their design.

I had somehow completely forgotten about them - I think my mind had erased them from my brain version of the trailer. Yeah, I can't pretend I'm looking forward to interacting with them. Ah well - you don't play Mario for the bosses; the other 98% game will probably be aces as all heck.

Whoever said "Forget new power-ups for Mario - let's just have bodyswaps instead!" deserves a medal. A Mario medal. Out the day before Jo's birthday, though... I'll have to force myself to put it down for more than a few seconds.

I was planning to make Mario Odyssey my Christmas game and not buy a copy, but I don't think I'll be strong enough to wait two months.

Oh shit, this has made up for every slight disappointment in the presentation. I don't know even how to analyse the trailer.
