You joke about that but I reckon Alex Ferguson can be classed as someone that "finished football manager". |

| Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7, probably my favourite Lego game, shame there wasn't much of a reward for 100%ing it. |

| The last of us (yes I did finish it)
Top stuff, with the combat and weapons being satisfyingly meaty but I still feel I'd have enjoyed it even more if it was in an open world setting. |

| Lego City Undercover. Er, the story, at least. As a veteran of a handful of previous Lego titles, you could see how this was built up (ha!) from elements of those previous games. On the other hand, Undercover brought enough new ideas to the table to keep me coming back. The much-vaunted humour was patchy, though it did hit more high notes than low ones. Right, that's enough of me sounding off. Back to the studio! |

| A double post but I did beat Mighty Switch Force! 2 this morning. There were not enough new elements to distinguish it from the original for me; the two biggest gameplay changes amounted to an extra person to optionally rescue and a fire hose instead of a gun. Having beaten the game, even the reward you get is very similar to that of the first game. An opportunity missed. |

| The trouble with everyone playing Animal Crossing is that nothing gets completed.
I may write a piece here when I've filled up the museum, so... this time next year? |

| Don't worry, through my lack of internet and/or lack of interest in Animal Crossing I have a big pile of games that I've finished:
Fire Emblem Awakening Fantastic strategy with a great cast of characters. Always fun making power teams like Lon'qu & Pan, Sully & Stahl and Vaike & Lissa
Plants Vs Zombies on Vita I've never gotten around to finishing any version of this before which is rather embarassing but I've done it now and all the minigames. Just a couple of survival maps to do and a second run through and I'll have the platinum!
Bully: Scholarship Edition I thought I'd posted about this but apparently not. It was nice to be using a pad instead of the wiimote apart from in the biology class but that's a minor sacrifice.
God of War: Ascension Good fun mythological slashing. A tad shorter than I'd hoped but it was dirt cheap in Games sale so I was happy with it.
Resistance 3 One of the best FPS's I've ever played. If you like shooting this is a must have, doesn't matter if you've not played the previous ones go out and get this now!
Saints Row: The Third I hated 2 so I expected to hate this but it turned out to have some cracking gun play and a pretty fun story. Obviously it's no GTA but it was a blast.
House of the Dead: OVERKILL Extended Cut A pretty fun co-op game. It's shooting zombies and it gave me an excuse to use move!
Sorcery Whilst move was out it was about time I got around to playing this and it was a delight. Nice world and cool spells made this turn out to be far more fun than expected.
CoD Black Ops 2 Usual CoD shooty shooty with some cool side missions that I found near impossible to do because I was playing on Vet. I'd definitely consider replaying to give them a better shot.
Red Faction: Armageddon I appear to be playing more THQ games now they're gone than I did when they were alive... Same satisfying shooting as Saints Row with the awesome destruction it brings. The linearity didn't feel like a bad thing to me either.
Duke Nukem Forever This is really not as bad as it's made out to be. It's a fun shooter with the odd puzzley element. Fun for a quick play and I think it's only been so harshly dealt with as it didn't live up to hype.
Prince of Persia (2008) A game I got at the same time as far too many games when I got my PS3 and I've only just gotten around to giving it a fair go. Not a necessary reboot but it was fresh and different and was fun.
Devil May Cry 2 I've heard very bad things about this game but aside from the infested tank and helicopter it was fun. Much better than the first anyway.
Jak 2 Oh Jak, what happened to you. You and your buddy Daxter made such a wonderful entry into the world, I loved every minute. This game is an abomination! It wants to be GTA, it is not GTA. There are 3 major problems that make it even worse. The cars control awfully and a single crash blows most of them up! The guns can only be shot in a straight line so any hope and any accuracy or hope to kill something is lost. The worst part though is the checkpoint system or lack of one. Due to the previous 2 complaints a good checkpoint system would be vital but any death in the city (a place where there is no way to recover health or ammo) means the whole mission is failed. Outside the city and a death takes you back to the start of the area (including falling off the edge) though often your progress is saved at least. Horrible game. Do not play.
I think that's it for now. Now I have the internet back there's a whole world of possibilities of what I can play so I'll probably sit around all evening trying to pick! |

| I wouldn't have called Jak 2 a horrible game... it's just disappointing going from such a lovely, colourful and enjoyable platformer to a GTA clone. |

| If it worked better I wouldn't mind. There were so many moments though where I was constantly repeating missions (particularly city based ones) through dodgy controls. The sheer rage caused by the spider walkers through town, or escorting the underground to new safe houses nearly killed the whole game for me several times. |

| That's more games than I've completed this decade. Without wanting to sound mean-spirited, how in the hell do you have the time to play through all that? |

| BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, Analogue: A Hate Story and BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend. Analogue was really short but a pretty interesting little visual novel, while Calamity Trigger was decent but sucked at properly explanining it's story. Ended up playing through the (seemingly pretty much completely rescripted, unsurprisingly) reconstruction in Extend before playing that through as well, which was pretty awesome. Enjoyed it a good deal despite my usual complete failing at fighting games, heh. Also, the music <3 |

No internet, no job, uni is off for summer and no money to do anything! Not much else for me to do but sit around playing about a game a day! |

| Call of Juarez: Gunslinger A wild west themed arcade shooter, which has you hunting down the likes of Butch Cassidy & the sundance kid , Jesse James and various other well known cowboys.
I really had fun with this & it was only £12
Hotline Miami Now this really was a weird game with really dark themes especially seeing as its 2d, but despite that it just pulls you into the weirdness & it becomes quite addictive.
The soundtrack is fantastic too. |

| And with that I have just finished Tales of the Abyss on the 3DS. Really fun game in my opinion, the battle system was a great deal of fun and it was also nice to play a game with lots of colour again as well. But since this is a jrpg naturally most of what I want to say is about the story and plot and cast, so with that said: - SPOILERS ABOUT THE ENTIRE GAME INCLUDING THE ENDING:
It won't be winning any awards for originality, but I absolutely loved the execution of the story when things were actually progressing. The skits ( is that what the chats between party members are called?) really helped flesh out the cast and make me like the lot of them, so when it finally came crunch time for a couple of the gang I was genuinely sad over the deaths. Ion. The ending was sort of expected by the time I got there but I was glad for it nevertheless, I would have raged so much if Luke had been dead dead rather than what appears to be fused with Asch. And speaking of Asch, why is it the death of him made me so sad when he spent most of the game making pre-town destruction Luke look like a saint? I have no idea how they pulled that off but I was sad when he died somehow.
All up a really fun and entertaining jrpg. And thus concludes my general meandering thoughts on Tales of the Seventh Fonon! |

I thought the story saved it from being a drag, characters were kept interesting throughout and dialogue was pretty engaging, even if it was mostly cliche. A class act. Did feel that the core game had to suffer as a result of the way the story was structured, though, (repetition sets in fairly early, and most the time you end up being an errand boy, going back and forth the same towns repeatedly) which is why I prefer how Miyamoto draws out his games to be gameplay experiences first, with the story later. |
