When did you graduate? Last I recall you were still studying, but it's been a while since I've been an active forumite.

Mid-2011, after four years of university. Loved most of it, but glad to get out.

Yeah, I understand that. I'm enjoying this year more than last, because I've changed my degree to incorporate some film studies into it, and I've found a passion for that.

What are you doing with yourself now?

Statistics, mostly. I work for an insurer, and I was going to tell them how much money they were allowed to spend under a new law... that's now been delayed until 2016.

Well, plenty of time to work out how much money they can spend then.

That's good that you've managed to get a job right after uni, although maybe it's easy and I'm just used to hearing from Lit graduates working in Starbucks.

Yes, mathematicians have it comparatively easy. Still had a rough time of it, though: I'm not really smooth enough for the modern corporate world.

How's the snow been treating everyone then? As a Scot, I've brushed off the smattering of snowfall we've had up here in Edinburgh. How have you fragile Southerners been coping?

I'm a Scot who's gotten stuck at home due to road closures around here because of "severe" conditions . Annoying because it's meant I've had to delay a couple of dissertation meetings because I can't get back to my term-time address at the moment.

Snow's almost melted down in Lahndahn Tahn. Such is the way of things. I walk into work, so it never bothered me much.

On a different topic, we have four users (after Stu deleted "mom2008") who haven't posted. Two haven't bothered even setting up their details (make you wonder why they bothered), but one has all his set up, while the other has an avatar. Strange things abound...

Aww but "mom2008" could have been one of our best forumites to date. I bet the poor soul was genuinely excited to set up an account before finding their dreams dashed before they could really take form.

I survived the Southern Snow, but that's because I'm a hard Northerner who craps whippets for breakfast, or something. The people of Reading fall at my feet in astoundment at my competent handling of frozen water.

Oh the very nerve of some people!

Rubbish days at work are rubbish.

Basically I was on with the one dumb person we still have for some reason (well the boss doesn't like firing people apparently )

But anyway I work in a Security monitoring station and an alarm came through which said dumbass got and did it's thing, but in the end it couldn't call anyone as it was like 2am and in the end gave up. But it failed to do the last thing we do if we can't get a hold of anyone we call the cops, and so it got into trouble for not doing that and I basically got in trouble for being in the room.
So when the boss said you both stuffed up I went ballistic asking why I was in trouble when I had nothing to do with what it was doing.

And someone called me a New Zealander

Being wrongly punished stings. You did the best thing staying there, though; there's no point losing your job and cutting off your nose to spite your face.

I'm now currently working on a new resume so I can really start looking for new work.
