| Yep go on then, extended for 24h. We're up to seven votes (although I'm waiting to hear back from one votes), but there are a couple of other big names I'm waiting on too! |

| I've got the exclusive scoop that Cappa has indeed voted for you and you are his 4th placed Nontendo game of the year. Congratulations Mas! |

| If I could vote for my own threads, this would already qualify for 2022's award. |

| Cheers Jas et al. If Cappa gets his votes in today (or realistically tomorrow since I won't be around on Wednesday) we'll have 13 votes overall, which is a phenomenal total for a vote thread 'round these parts! And only a couple have had extremely hurtful content in them. EDIT: And that's a wrap! Here's what happens next: - The awards will start coming out on Wednesday, probably. Still time for any last-minute edits until about 6pm tomorrow. - Awards will go up every one or two days, probably. - Putting together all the comments and votes and stuff is an ordeal, so there's a chance I've missed your comment out. Please let me know if so. - After they're done it'll be pretty much time to vote on the Five Years of Switch stuff. I may put up the odd Switch discussion topic if there's any time to kill. All of this subject to change if I get COVID/horribly addicted to Pokémon Legends. |

| I shall answer questions about my avatar elsewhere. For here, we celebrate... THE GNAMER FORUM AWARDS 2021THE SENRI THE MAILMAN AWARD FOR POST OF THE YEAR(11 voters, 29 votes)This year's winner of the Most Improved Award Award, which posts were award award-worthy for you this year? (Also: drafted this entire post earlier today, then wiped it with my draft for the next post. Excuse me if it's a little scrappy.) - Third Place:
Treesmurf’s playlists (8 points, 3 votes, 2 firsts) You say:“What a great way to cap off last year’s music thing. Lots of effort spent that deserves my vote in thanks.” “Narcissist that I am, have listened to my own several times” “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and Smurfs keep everything in order ~ Plato” I say: My first place. I appreciate the effort spent on one of my favourite projects in one of my favourite threads. Great work Smurf.
- Second Place:
Masofdas ponders the taste of vegans (9 points, 4 votes, 2 firsts) You say:“A very strange post from Mas that had me laughing a lot, coupled with all our responses to the concept of a human burger. ” “Asking the important questions." “Are we human? Or are we vegans? My words are vital. But uncontrolled. And I’m on my knees, looking for the answers. Are we human? Or are we vegans?” “Jesus Christ Mas.” I say: I remain unsure whether Mas intended for this post to be as funny as many clearly found it. I hope he did!
- And The Winner Is...:
Buskalilly's dance reviews (20 points, 7 votes, 6 firsts) You say:“Just a stellar effort, sensational posting, a GNamer all-timer.” “Biggest laugh I've had on the forum all year.” “Like GNamer’s own TikTok viral hit.” “Buskalilly is a man of the many talents” “I'm not sure it was actually that good a post as his actual score predictions were way off.” I say: No competition here. Goes to show what a webcam, a Mario plush, and a total lack of shame can do for you. Congratulations Buska!
- GJones' Fun Time Art Corner:
Bower's Fury (2 points, 2 votes) “GJones did a few of these brilliant pictures over the year but this was the pick of the bunch, something I never realised I needed to see.” “People responding to spelling mistakes is always funny” Mad Mas (2 points, 2 votes) “My favourite of GJones’ artworks this year. It’s the WiiMote and Zelda with bulletholes in that elevates it.” Sonia Mania (3 points, 2 votes) And one point for in general: “Sonia Mania, Del Boy Cappa, Bower’s Fury, take your pick!" I say: GJones really lit up the forum this year with these. Truly a grand contribution. My only slight surprise is that Del Boy with Nagano didn't get more attention!
- Missed the cut:
Rum reviews Superola (5 points, 2 votes, 1 first) “How much of this vote is for the review, and how much is for the picture of a llama with ‘cunt’ MSPainted onto it? Honestly I’d rather not say.” "Rum calls out that llama, Kant.” All the rest had one vote apiece. Balladeer reviews two years’ worth of Switch games (2) - “The sheer effort to review everything he'd played on Switch was a great read and a good way to look back at the console so far.” Cappa's Evercade reviews (2) (example as the vote was for the category as a whole) - “This seems like such a niche and forgotten bit of 2021 but I was interested in the content even though I’m not interested in the Evercade itself! That in itself is worthy of praise.” GJones' Gintendo PS2 retrospective (2) - “Was that here? Was that Gintendo? It’s all the same thing, right? Excellent post.” Cappa's 3DS launch post (2) (no comment)Cappa's Flingsmash baw-booting (1) - “So good it needed its own giant font.” XBox doughnuts saga (1) - “Worth reading down to and including gjones's cracking quip. A solid group effort here.” I say: A couple of slightly cheeky votes, voting for Gintendo articles or categories of posts... but these only helped to put a broader spotlight on some of the fine examples of #content we've had this year. Well done to all involved! (Including me apparently.)
Talk amongst yourselves, next post goes up tomorrow or Friday! |

| I'd totally forgotten about treesmurf's playlists and Balladeer's Switch reviews - they're excellent posts, they'd have made up my top 5, and not necessarily as fourth and fifth place. Otherwise, glad to see gjones' photoshops get attention, and I had full trust in everybody to vote for Buskalilly's dances as the Post of the Year. Never in doubt. Cheers to whoever voted for my chat about old, old, old games. |

Buska is a rightful winner here. |

I had also totally forgotten about Smurf's playlists - I've even got my own one saved to my YouTube library for ease of access. I feel bad about not firing a vote his way now! |

| THE NYAVIROU AWARD FOR FUNNIEST FORUMITE(11 voters)A lot of people this year were substantially funnier than MHS' terrible cat companion, but who stood out for you? - Third Place:
Crumpy Andy (1 vote) You say:“Still can’t believe he’s tasted his fridge” I say: Please can somebody give me the story behind this!?
- Second Place:
= The Cappuccino Kid (3 votes) You say:"I don’t think this needs explaining.” “He is a funny man a lot.” = GJones (3 votes) You say:“His artwork. His tagline suggestions. Every time he posts pretty much. That GJones isn’t in the funniest forumite discussion more often is a minor travesty.” “With his funny pictures he made.” “Them pictures are pretty funny” I say: GJones' artwork was obviously the main thing that inspired the forum this year, but I do think there's more than that. His tagline solutions have consistently been among my faves. (See: today.) As for Cappa, he's a common figure in the Funniest Forumite conversation, but I couldn't think of any specific laugh-out-loud moments to refer to (and the comments didn't help none ) - then he submitted his votes. There are two absolute snorters from the man in Nintendo and Nontendo that gave me the giggles. See if you can spot them.
- And The Winner Is...:
Buskalilly (4 votes) You say:“I feel like I vote him for this every year but good humour is timeless, a goof in the best possible way.” “He pretty much sealed the award for me this year with those unbelievable interpretative dance videos in that scores game thread. He's been making me laugh quite often when I've been browsing the forum this year, so well done to Buska. The king hath returned.” “I think he clinched it with his interpretive dance. What a babe.” “For the dances.” I say: Now you see why I put up Post before Funnyman! I'm not saying it was all down to the one belting post, but that definitely didn't hurt his chances. Congratulations Buska - again.

| I went back and forth on voting either Buska or gjones for this category, so happy to see them both charting highly. Worthy winner, once again.
As for Andy's fridge, that's clearly Muss or Buska bringing in a Monster Mash story into forum mythos. |

| GNEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS (5 resolutions)
What do we want to get up to this year, pandemic permitting?
“I’ve moved to Swindon recently so looking to join some sort of club or class! I also have plans to launch a YouTube channel later in the year, based around data analysis and football. I think I mentioned this last year…”
“From December, my answer was play Breath of the Wild again and forget all else. I'm a bit happier now though, so usual backlog blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah”
“Sell flat. Buy house. Fill house with soft toys. (They’ll never be able to guess who this one belongs to!)”
“Still under no illusions I'll visit the UK this year, so just gonna keep up with my exercise, save a little more money and knuckle down on studying Japanese” (They’ll never be able to guess who this one belongs to either! - Balla)
“To be honest, no major promises! Hack away at the backlog a bit. Try and make more of a habit of reading and exercising. Go to some nice places. All that jazz.”
I say: No consistent threads here for me to pick out really (perpetual War Against Backlogs notwithstanding), so I'll just say that I hope you all make your resolutions come true and move on! |
