Cast your mind back, if you will, to the back end of 2012, when I was having a row with the job centre.

As part of the appeals process, I did a Data Protection Act request on them, partially to see if I could find some information to use against them, partially to cost them money and waste them time.

I've been sat on that paperwork since, as it's all personal data, I don't want to just bin it. Today, I finally remembered to go out, buy some matches, and burn it all.

It took two and a half hours. It involved a 190-page document explaining how to read the printout.

Must have been satisfying though. Did you cackle maniacally at the start?

I know it's improper of me to bring this up, but I conducted a career guidance group session and interview earlier today, which more than once turned into a belter of a conversation about Pokémon Stadium on the N64. Honestly!

Sounds more fun than any of my careers guidance sessions were!

Christ, no - it was the clients who steered the conversation that way. One of the groupwork excerises we did involved drawing people in jobs on the whiteboard (i.e. nursery teacher, prison officer, vet, etc etc). For whatever reason, one of the people taking part started drawing Pokémon, and the discussion drifted off course from there. The Transfer Pack was mentioned btw!

Incidently, trying to relate Pokémon to career-related learning is hard.

Just been looking at the forum information at the bottom of the main page. How in the ruddy hell did we manage to get thirty-three visitors on board in one go on the seventeenth of January?

When I used to work on a checkout, if I was bored I would get a roll of receipt paper and see how many pokemon names I could write over the course of my shift.
