My mistake - it's actually 6-4 in favour of SONM. To be fair, I have yet to vote...

I can't see that .gif, but I'm assuming it's saying something like, "No it's not, I've voted!" If not, it ought to be.

With about a couple of days to go before the deadline shuts on this vote, and with the contributors standing at 6 from both GNamer and SONM (and me finally finishing processing the votes!), know this: people have voted for exactly 64 different games. Spooky!

| Total of 120 games voted for (including duplicates). Hopefully that means some clear placings. I'm guessing that SMG, Earthbound, and Pokémon GSC will all rank in the top ten - the latter two because of their "Iwata-ness", and SMG because it always ranks highly. - Spoiler:
None of them are in my votes.

Seventeen votes snuck under the wire, with eleven received here and six from SONM. Processing these is going to take ages, and we're going out at the weekend... ulp.

SONM continue to disappoint. Well, maybe that's a bit unfair - some randomers coming in and asking them to vote? And I probably take some of that blame too!

In total 72 different games are represented. The top ten is as good a mix of 'Iwata The President' and 'Iwata The Programmer' as I could have hoped for, I reckon. Really looking forward to having everything ready!

| Let's begin. *bows*- Tenth Place:
Super Smash Bros. For Wii U(28 points, 4 voters, 0 first places) (Super Smash Bros. For Wii U also wins Most Bizarre Use Of The Wii Fit Trainer Character Award) Satoru Iwata's Involvement: Executive Producer Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nb1m_wyB4bM Gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIK1CSPxArg Weird Video: Which Final Smash Launches The Most Distance? Metacritic: http://www.metacritic.com/game/wii-u/super-smash-bros-for-wii-u Someone Said: Iwata was involved in the original Smash Bros., and heavily involved in Mêlée. This game renders them both obsolete, but it's fair to say that without Iwata's gaming assistance, Rosalina would never have been able to belt Shulk around the face. I say: The latest iteration of Nintendo's riotous fighting game lands in the top ten! We thought nothing could beat the madcap hilarity of four fighters on-screen at once... until eight-player mode burst onto the scene... and there's still more to come! Come on, Paper Mario! A fabulous celebration of Nintendo culture that deservedly kicks off the countdown.
- Ninth Place:
Super Mario Galaxy 2(30 points, 5 voters, 1 first place) (Super Mario Galaxy 2 also takes home the And Now With Added Yoshi Award) Satoru Iwata's Involvement: Executive Producer Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7steQttNTo Gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLpcg1s_nmc Weird Video: The Mysterious Figures Of Shiverburn Galaxy Metacritic: http://www.metacritic.com/game/wii/super-mario-galaxy-2 Someone Said: When this was announced, I was all "How can they possibly improve on Galaxy?!", but, well, here we are! Just a brilliant game that was a step up from the original. I say: A stunning game. Even though it's over five years old and on previous gen hardware, its spectacle and sheer gorgeousness are still mind-blowing today. Fact: Google's AutoComplete thingy gives 'Super Mario Galaxy 3' as a more common search than this, such is the desire for a follow-up!

That's a very strong start & also nice touch adding the Iwata's involvement as well as the weird video thing.

A strong start to our countdown! I'm liking the added information and video links Zero. I have to disagree with the first commenter - I don't think Smash 4 renders the old Smash games obsolete. I still enjoy playing Melee to this day, and Brawl's story mode is a better single player experience than Smash 4's efforts. Still, I'm happy to see Smash 4 included as it's a belter of a game.

Good start with two big games but I do agree with Jay though to me Melee still is the best and maybe we will see that later.

I didn't mention Brawl, as I completely agree with you. Nothing in SSBU's single-player hand comes close to the SSE. Regarding Mêlée, well, if you say so - but I find that harder to understand. At the top level, with the wave-dashing and the SHFFLing, I understand that it's a completely different game. Otherwise? While Brawl was washed-out and slowed down in comparison, U sped back things up and reintroduced the colour, to the point where Mêlée's advantage there has been eroded. U has more characters, more stages, fewer out-and-out clones, more trophies, more music, more items, obviously it's shinier... Unless you absolutely love Pichu, that stage with the turtle, or the half-dozen platforming efforts in Adventure Mode, I'm afraid you've lost me. As for the vote, that is a very strong first showing. I doubt that (in my eyes anyway) the higher choices will be able to keep up the pace. And those things in SMG2 do really unnerve me.

More stuff and being shiny doesn't make things better, the core gameplay in Melee I find more enjoyable myself. I can't speak for Jay on that though but I know from going to Timewarp and they've had consoles set-up SMASH4 does get played but like Mario Kart as well everyone then goes play MK64 or Melee not SMASH4 or MK8 as there more FUN to play the older two there.
