| Jas or Vido, give me words of advice! - Spoiler:
Fucking Seath the Scaleless. I can't beat him! Worked out I need to smash his crystal thing, but I just can't get close enough to hit him.

| @jay - Spoiler:
seath tips: keep him in the middle of the room so you don't get trapped, don't lock on, run up to the middle of him to bait his breath attack once his head arches back run to your right & get 1 or 2 hits on the back of his closest tail (don't get greedy) then run to the furthest wall to avoid his AOE crystal attack & then repeat until victory is achieved.
Oh make sure you have on armour that has good curse DEF.

| I've got Ornstein's Armor with Havel's Gauntlets, and I'm not getting cursed quickly, so there's that! |

| Is that still medium load wise? I had to go light for that fight so I could run quickly, think I used the dingy robes. |

| I can't remember how far I got in the first game. I know O+S have fallen, but that's all I can remember off the top of my head. Achievement list says I have the Lordvessel, but I also know that the less linear format of the game means that doesn't tell you quite so much. |

Medium load, yeah. I could probably take off the Havel's Gauntlets for light load. |

| @Jay - Spoiler:
So you made it to Seath, well done. At the time of writing I expect you have beaten him, but ill give my advice anyway. For an easier fight, do not under any circumstances attack him from behind, his tail slams will destroy you in a few hits. Although, if you do manage to sever his tail you will get a neat weapon . Generally, its best to stay central to his body watching his head as to spot whether his crystal beam will be a horizontal or vertical sweep (To my knowledge the horizontal sweep will not crystallize the area around his body so get hits in then). Pay special attention if he roars and charges up an attack, you may not see this coming if you are too close but the visual and vocal cues are telegraphed a few seconds before he unleashes crystal hell. He also has a claw attack but its pretty mundane. As for weaknesses... Im not so sure, definitely not a magic weapon, possibly lightning as dragons in general within the dark souls series are weak to this.

| I managed to beat him! Also, Vido, definitely game for GNuzlocke Challenge 2.0. - Spoiler:
Currently in the Demon Ruins - not enjoying this area at all. The Ceaseless Discharge was a pretty easy boss all told, but I do not appreciate the hoards of Taurus and Capra demons everywhere. Up to the Demon Firesage now - I reckon I'll be able to beat him but his red explosion attack is pretty nasty, and it's keeping me from bumrushing him. Also, ANOTHER reskin of the Asylum Demon? Really?!

| Seath is definitely weak to lightning, also they really did go all out in the demon ruins area. |

| I was reading up on the development of Dark Souls, and the article mentioned that a couple of areas of the game were unfinished by the developer's admission, namely Lost Izalith. - Spoiler:
And I can see why. I offed the Firesage Demon and the Centipede Demon, and the gap between those two bosses was miniscule! Also, props again to Solaire for the assist in beating the Centipede Demon, he is by and large my friend for life now. Lost Izalith is a mess though, isn't it? Nothing but lava and a few branches. Also, all those dinosaur demon things - it felt like a developer just went mad with the "add enemy" tool because there was no rhyme or reason to have so many enemies there. I ended up taking a position in one of those towers and just sniping them all, because they had no sense of pathfinding and ended up just getting caught on branches. It's also an ugly ugly area. Not impressed.

Although Izalith seems like an open ended area, the path to get out of the lava area is very linear. I think I have only managed to aggro one legatron (best name I could think of) and even then I just ran to cover. Oh and have fun with the eventual boss .

Well, he is blind... And that's not foreboding at all Vido. EDIT: Broken broken terrible boss. Not impressed! It's dead, but man was that a mess. Compared to the masterfully designed O&S fight, that boss was utter shite. Hell, most of Demon Ruins and all of Lost Izalith was unimpressive. You can definitely see the lack of polish on these areas that the others have. They were merely okay, which is a testament to the design of the other areas. Two more required bosses to go till I'm done! |

| I like the way ruins/izalith looked but I cant really argue with your other points, thought it was a bit weird where you pick up the orange charred ring as the game generally tucks away items like that in areas you wouldn't think of. Also mas didn't think you'd finish by DSII's PC release |

| ONE. MORE. BOSS. - Spoiler:
Tomb of the Giants was pretty fun! Focusing on balancing between light and having a shield was a cool mechanic, although Nito was a bit of a pushover in the end. He ended up killing his minions most of the time with his shockwave attack allowing me to run in and bash at him two handed. Had one bash at Gwyn and he doesn't seem impossibly hard. I got him down to about a third of his health on my first go, so I should manage to beat him next time I fire up the game. Also, how satisfying is parrying his big leap attack? Oh, and Kiln of the First Flame is a really neat area visually, and back stabbing all the Dark Knights with my +15 Uchigitana is very fun.

I don't really see it as a spoiler, its just the name of a covenant in the game available from the get go. Anyway this covenant - Spoiler:
Does not allow the use of any phantom help and stops you from helping others. Also makes the game tougher apparently.
Should be fun/frustrating. |

| Hey, what's wrong with a katana? My Uchi's carried me through the entire game. Oh wow! I knew there were items that would make the game harder if you used them, but that certainly sounds like quite a game changer. How would you rate DSII compared to DSI Vido? |

| Hmm, I like 2 better overall. I think that Dark souls 1 perfected the weight of weapons and armour and how this made controlling them feel almost 'authentic' if such a thing is manageable. You feel allot more nimble in 2.
Some people say the graphics took a hit in 2, I don't mind though because there is no sudden frame crashes like in blight-town. The game is longer and has more bosses, though most don't feel as monumental as those in the first game.
I say 'most' as some will destroy you, in this way damage feels accurate. in DS1 any old boss did lots of damage even if the attack looked unastounding. If a boss is big and does some sort of charging attack it will one shot you. Some of the smaller bosses will be a test of agility.
There are also a vast array of weapons available in 2 with durability being re-hashed to create a balance between a glass cannon (katana) and something reliable yet mundane (broadsword). There is also loads of crazy magic to employ from soul spears to setting yourself on fire.... yes, this is an actual spell.
Overall 2 is bigger better and you will die lots more, at the cost of maybe a little graphics wise and possible quantity over quality in enemies/bosses, although they are still pretty good. |

| And I'm done! Managed to kill the final boss with a parry and riposte, which felt SO damn satisfying. I'll probably pick up Dark Souls II after my exams, as it releases on PC like two days before they start. |

| Congrats Jay! As I said before the katana served me well for while but once I tried out the great swords I didn't turn back (until I turned one divine to deal with Nito's skele's) also with the final boss the only way I could get blows in was to parry/riposte so it got pretty dicey at times. edit: question for Jay in the spoiler: - Spoiler:
what ending did you pick?
