| Whilst I can't deny it was important it's nowhere near one of the best games. I wouldn't say it was an essential addition to every collection. If I had to pay for it I'd be dissapointed if I paid any more than a tenner. It was bettered by its sequel and with all the great games there are I don't think it belongs, just thinking of the poor games that will miss out on a place up high because of this makes me sad |

| Wii Sports! Great game, although one I haven't played in a good long while. I can only echo what others have already said - it opened up gaming to a huge group of people and, arguably, gave the Wii the success it achieved. |

| I'm with andyman on this one, its already ridiculous that it topped games like MP3/trilogy & monster hunter Tri ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!! it didn't even ente my mind at all when making my top ten.
Poor show on the folks who voted for it. |

| I'm surprised by all the Wii Sports hate. I think it's been treated by the brush of everything that came after it- the Wii party, the carnival games and the Cammy Dunaway. When we first saw Wii Sports, and when we first played it, it was pure Nintendo magic. |

| I don't hate it, but I wouldn't put it up with the top ten. It was magical at the time, but it's long since been surpassed - by its own sequel, apart from anything else. Although I wish you wouldn't remind me about Cammie Dunnaway. |

| I prefer Wii Party to Wii Sports, it wasn't quite Mario Party but the minigames and most of the maps are pretty good. |

| Buskalilly with some sense talk here. Agreeing that it's probably the 'best' Wii game (as a demonstration of what they Wii could do and as an example of the sort of social gaming that most of us enjoyed with our Wii), and that - like treesmurf too - we all remember our first time playing it. It's pure nostalgia for me. Dave's Hogmanay party 2006. |

| Yeah, I'd agree with that. There's nothing else on the system that better represents what a "Wii game" is, and did so successfully to boot. |

| There's no doubts it's a fun game & everyone has their great memories playing it with friends & family but top ten? No. |

| Speaking of games everyone has memories of playing... Seventh Place- Spoiler:
OkamiPoints: 30 First places: 0 You say: "A very beautiful game. Let down slightly by the crappy controls and the repetitive gameplay but a real joy when on top form." "If you don't cheer up when you reach Shinshú Field, you are probably dead already." I say: Oh no, wait, I meant the opposite; which is a downright shame. Ignore the awful battle controls and the repetition of the hydra: concentrate on the beauty, the sweeping scale, the music, the random Japanese culture references, and the mad-as-several-hatters characters and plot. A strong argument for the "games can be art" bods, and the first game in this list to be on mine as well. Celebrity Guest Princess Mononoke says: "Did Miyazaki-san-sama-kun give these people my copyright? A female lead with red markings, wolf-associated, and with a vague spirituality/nature theme? These blackguards steal ideas, just like they steal my woodland and turn it to industry. And look at the humans! They're all small and have tiny eyes! Everyone knows that Japanese humans are tall and pale with eyes at least half the size of their face. If I ever meet the people responsible, I'll gut them while they sleep, before sunrise (I hear they're ready at dawn), and feed them to the wolves they like so much. We'll see if their magic paintbrush saves them then!"

Well it is, and above the likes of Monster Hunter, Metroid and hundreds of others. ~ As for seventh place, I'm the guy who has no memories of playing it, as I didn't: I picked it up for £4 and didn't touch it. Looks good, mind. |

| It's a fair entry, a lovely game and the combat didn't bother me much, it was drawing circles. I am unable to draw circles on the DS (see my inability to play Pokemon Ranger) let alone with shaky hand pointer controls. I nearly managed to finish it on the PS3 due to being able to draw circles with an analogue stick but then Jess' PS3 did a memory wipe and my file was on there |

| Okami is a pretty sweet game. During the adventure week vote I described it as 'complete', and I stand by that - it had a very full world, with lots of stuff going on. I also felt that the combat was very repetitive and the way the pointer controls registered stank ("That was a straight [expletive deleted] line, you stupid game!" and similar rang out from my sofa on many occasions). It's my second most played Wii game (behind Twilight Princess, list fans!). |

| Played it on PS2 - never played it on Wii - so I've no idea if the controls/anything added to the game improve/take away from the Wii version. Deserved top 10, anyway. |

| Ladies and gentlemen, please put your hands together for a very special guest... Sixth Place- Spoiler:
Super Mario Galaxy 2Points: 47 First places: 1 You say: "After the disappointment of Sunshine, Nintendo cut the crap and condensed the 3D platforming. I might've had these two [Mario games] the other way round in platformers week. *shrug*" "A classic in it’s own right; equally as good fun as it’s prequel." "A second round of fantastic platforming. It takes Galaxy 1 and makes another set of fun filled levels." "Understatement need not apply: SMG 2 is the finest platforming experience on the Wii. It took everything the original stood for, multiplied it by 3.7 and added Yoshi. What's not to love? Nothing, that's what! Er..." I say: Better than SMG because: - Out second, so disappointment that it wasn't as good as SM64 lessened;
- Better overall level design;
- Green Star Hunt;
- Yoshi!
Worse than SMG because: - Not as fresh;
- Worse power-ups;
- Best music was lifted from the original;
- Worse bosses.
SMG2 is indubitably the better platformer, but SMG might just have been the better game. Which did the willy-head vote higher this time? You'll have to wait until the end of the week to find out! Celebrity Guest Chris Scullion (via CVG PM) says: "When I originally heard that Nintendo was doing a straight sequel to Super Mario Galaxy my first thought was 'hmmm, they're running out of ideas'. With hindsight that was one of the most ridiculously ill-judged thoughts I've ever had, along with 'Sonic as a werewolf? That sounds brilliant' and 'I think I'll try hoovering the bath' (I was at Uni and I wasn't very streetwise). "I realised how stupid I'd been when I went to Nintendo HQ to review the game. I spent two full ten-hour days in one of their games rooms playing it alone and for those two days that room may as well have been a time machine with an eleven-year-old me sitting in there. All my cynicism was turned away at the door and I spent those 20 hours grinning away like a loon, barraged with gorgeous new worlds, incredible music and surprisingly tricky platforming (at times), as if I was a young NES fan with Mario posters on my bedroom wall again. "Super Mario Galaxy 2 has the sheer balls to introduce a brilliant new gaming mechanic for a single mission, the sort of mechanic that lesser developers would build an entire game around, then ditch it altogether and throw a completely different one at you for the next mission. Even the odd occasions when it went back to the well - the Throwback Galaxy being the perfect example - it still felt special. "Super Mario Galaxy 2 was my favourite Wii game by far (its predecessor was the only one that came close), and if the upcoming Wii U Mario adventure is half as good then my eleven-year-old self is in for a treat again."

| Expected that to place higher... are we in for some shock high entries?
Also, cracking spiel by Chris, he makes me doubt my own placing of the original SMG over the second. |

| SMG2 was my #1 vote - I recognise the split between the game and its predecessor, discussed a few times in this very forum (well, mostly its spiritual predecessor!). It'll be interesting to see if SMG places higher... anyway, another truly fine game. We were blessed with the Wii, weren't we? Especially if SMG2 isn't even a top five game! Huge thanks to Chris for his contribution to our forum! :hug: |

| Great contribution, Chris. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm just finishing up hoovering the bath. No problems with Okami making the list. It was a quality production, albeit one that was a bit too fussy and long-winded for my liking. Dying to know what the top five are, now. There's no way Super Mario Galaxy isn't in there. It would take a form full of willy-heads to keep it out of the top five, wouldn't it? I'm also intrigued to note that several key games may have stolen Galaxy 2's thunder. Only on a Nintendo platform could such a game rank sixth. Am I right? |

| Ye can't argue with sixth spot even though I thought the first was the better, but maybe I'm all nostalgic & factoring in how different it was to any other Mario game before it. |

| Into the top five now! What surprises and wonders can possibly be in store? Fifth Place- Spoiler:
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward SwordPoints: 55 First places: 1 You say: "THIS IS ONLY THE SECOND BEST ZELDA GAME ON A CONSOLE! We're now spoiled." "The Zelda experience we were all hoping for when the Wii was announced was not Twilight Princess, in my opinion, but this: the motion controls made this. Demise nearly caused mine." "The only thing that could make it better would be a more believable, alive overworld like Twilight Princess." "Not a fan of the motion controls, was a decent outing but left much to be desired." "A game that could rate so much higher if they weren't so lazy with the overworld, a second on that awful bird thing was a second too long. On the other hand the dungeons were great and swordplay was mostly fun until it needed to be too precise." I say: Really? Fifth place? By eight whole points, over SMG2 and Okami? Astounding motion controls and Groose can only go so far to make up for the lack of overworld and the second half of the game introducing almost nothing new. Don't get me wrong, it deserves a top ten place, but top five? Well, you voted for it... Celebrity Guest Adolf Hitler says: "Wunderschön! I haff never in my life (zat ended in 1945) seen such a brilliant videogame! Ze village of Skyloft is like my own personal Aryan paradise, an isolated verdant settlement vhere all ze important people are vhite, and mostly haff blonde or red hair and blue eyes. Ze non-vhites are restricted to ze retail sector! And ze main villains are a stereotyped homosexual and a black person. It is gut to know zat ze Japanese retain a fondness for my ideals so long affter ze var! Even if zey are non-Aryan scum zemselves. Now excuse me: I need to remove my own arms for my upcoming Vii Sports Tennis match against David Cameron."
