My main problems here are going to be my inability to diversify beyond Nintendo consoles, and my age. In fact, assuming that the Game Boy and GB Colo(u)r count as the same console, I have played exactly 8 consoles. And I wouldn't say that any of them have been bad per se.

I will let the color be it's own console. Thing's like micro & sp count as the same thing.

One question (not specifically because of this thread, but more of a noticeable change in terminology over the years) - at what point did things like the Commodore 64 become consoles? It used to be that consoles had controllers and were only for games, and computers had keyboards and had serious software. But now it seems that anything that's not a PC or Mac is a console (even smartphones blur the line). Maybe it's just the effect of time - non-game software has evolved so that modern computer software naturally replaces the old software (there are some purists who will still use their BBC Micro as a word processor, as opposed to Microsoft Word, but, to be honest, there's some deep psychological issues there, I'd imagine), whereas games are tied to systems and therefore are still relevant in that sense.

I'll get voting but I'm not sure how easy this thread will be. I'm not sure I'll be able to write much about them because at the end of the day it's the games that are going to be making up my mind mostly and a big list of games I love per console isn't going to be particularly interesting to read. Anyway I'll save the rest of my comments for my votes.

I think I'll concentrate mostly on the consoles themselves in my comments, even though the games will make the biggest differences.

One thing I'd like to confirm about voting criteria: are we looking at how the consoles were now, or then?  I had a lot of time for my chunky red four-AA-powered Game Brick back in the day, but not even its finest offerings (RBYGSC, most likely) stand up in today's glare.

My votes have been sent. I deemed one console worthy enough to be on my "Worst" list. The rest of them would have just been "some consoles I like that didn't make the top 10....and 7-10 from my top 10".

Hmm, this'll be a toughie. I think I know my top 3, but beyond that I'll need to think about.

I've had two votes so far from Jimbob and Cube.

Reason I'm allowing things like the commodore 64 is then we get no moaning like in the other votes, if everything is allowed no one can moan.

Jimbob did make comments and his were about the systems there self not the games that make it good, but any comments would be appreciated even if it's this number 1 over my number 2  as it has X game on it .

Balla I think the criteria should be what you enjoy if memories of a certain console brings a smile to your face then that's all what should matter.

Yeah, I think lumping on criteria would be silly for a vote like this, agreed with the last sentence there Mas.

Is there any sort of deadline on this as its really tough to decide.

1 week so next monday morning, then I will sort out the points and then I will be doing 9-10, 7-8 etc best' & worsts over a week.

Just had phillps top 10 best but not worse, one console is front by a lot all ready even with only 4 votes.

It's a three-way battle with the 7 votes so far for the best console, not to much in the way of bad console's so that might be done slightly differently but will wait to see after I get the rest of the votes. Also some of you are looney but I will voice my opinion if they make any list's.

If had Xelviar vote now and 2becomecarrion say's he's going to send in his aswell.

2become voted in the Wii vote a few times I think, I currently have 8 votes with the votes tight 1st has 43 points, 10th has 21 points okay sounds a big cap but a couple of 1st places or high votes it could all change.

Xelviar's a new one, but 2bc won an award in the Wii thread! He disappeared before the last week though, sadly.

Voting ends Monday at 13.00 (as that's when I finish work), then 10 & 9 will go up on Monday night.

Mine too.  Nine Nintendo consoles, from the Game Boy onwards, and not a dishonourable among them.

And yes, 15 would be the most. It's the newbies, Silver Duckie and Vido, that are missing. Has Vido given up on GNamer? He'll need to come back soon for X/Y Nuzlocke!
